What’s the story you heard then? Would be interested to know….
Interesting link Zwitter, thanks for the heads up. I see that they also do Harvard and Chipmunk flights a lot cheaper. The Chipmunk prices are quite reasonable.
I wonder what other warbird flights are available in the UK or Europe?
Just watched the programme, credit to Graham Adlam and Ian Wilson for sharing their woes of how they were duped when buying aviation memorabilia presumably from eBay. Would be good if the particulars of the sellers of these items were disclosed so that they could be named and shamed and help avoid others being duped. Interesting programme, looks like fakes in aviation memorabilia is a growing industry and that people are prepared to go to elaborate lengths to deceive and generate money. Nice detective work on the log book Mr Saunders!
There certainly was!
Look out for a news feature in ‘Britain at War’ Jan 2015 edition (on sale 23 December) covering this very subject.
Will look forward to reading more about the how this ME 109 was found in India. Thanks for the heads up.
I know we all laugh…..but you never know what may turn up!
Wasn’t a ME109 or something found in India some time back?
Only £2,500 Wow! Grab it while you can betore someone else does.
Try Spitfire spares for firing buttons, there is also a replica brass firing button on ebay at the moment.
I haven’t published it.
Exactly nothing has been published other than the Flickr photo album site being linked in. What’s the point of creating a web page and putting photos on the internet if you don’t want people to look at them? I would have thought the last forum member D1566 was doing you a favour by promoting your site?
Well I think it has been handled well by Twinotter23, obviously not his fault but dealt with well within a short period of time. Never has so much emotion been stirred since the Burmese sarga!
Although I’m a supporter of Newark, I don’t think any thread should be ended because a reader feels that enough has been said. Clearly this particular thread is still contributed to on a regulary basis therefore of interest to other members Those who think time has expired on this thread and any other thread should not bother to continue reading it. Therefore the problem is solved for them.
Oh dear, just looked at trip advisor and the museum didn’t get a good write up for yesterday (1st Nov). All the other write ups throughout the year seem ok.
Its normally a great friendly museum but this issue seems to have tarnished it somehow, I’m sure it will recover. I do tend to agree with the complainant that 4pm closure means 4pm and not 10 minutes before, very disapointing if one had gone out of their way to aim for this time. Anyhow as said before great museum and wouldn’t deserve any negative comments on trip advisor. I’m sure that now the problem is highlighted it will be resolved internally for the benefit of all future customers.
Aren’t there a whole lot of BAC 1-11’s in storage somewhere in Africa?
Are there any aircraft trapped at the Airfield? Either airworthy or non airworthy?
Nice to see a new fledging museum starting off
