Does anyone know which company is scrapping the aircraft at Cambridge?
They are collectable items to aviation enthusiast and will have some monetary value (and I dont know what that may be) so please dont dump them in a skip to be lost for ever! Good luck!
Brooklands museum aerojumble is the 27th July 2014. Combined with the auto jumble and other retro stuff. Through past experience there’s not much but it can only improve.
GOKONE do you have the usual post event reports and photos? Would be helpful for those who didn’t attend.
Where have the Tristars gone too? Anyone know if they will be sold on or scrapped?
Its great for you and I to have access to aerojumbles and long may they live. But we have to remember that these events are unique, only possibly limited to the UK and to narrow it down further probably only restricted to the South of England and the midlands. Therefore for those outside this catchment area ebay is a good way to source those elusive parts. I hope that they (aerojumbles and ebay) both continue for a long time. Yes I know their pros and cons but the bottom line is that both are a good source for acquiring the things we need.
Whats the entry fee, anyone know? Long range weather forecast looks good Sunny 16-18 c. Lets hope its a good one!
So what’s the verdict GOKONE will you be there this year? If so will you be able to do the usual post reports?
Pity this use to be a half decent aerojumble, hope it doesn’t end up like Brooklands.
There is an aerojumble store at Bruntingthorpe open days who sell a complete set of Varsity pilots panels with instruments etc. I’ve seen them for sale for the last couple of seasons, not sure if they have currently sold though.
Graham Adlam was selling the sections – or at least telling me how much they were
Out of interest, Any one know the prices they were asking?
I’ll be there too with a fist full of dollars!!!! More importantly do you have a burger stall set up?
Any airshow with Lightnings is happy times! I must check the UK airshow schedules for this year to see if Manston are doing another airshow.
Aside to this I wonder where their heavy freighter traffic will be diverted too. Somewhere that has a lengthy runway no doubt. Always like the old DC- 8 freight dogs they (the design) must be coming near to 60 years old now.
Great stuff, best I get myself down there early
Sad to read the latest news on Manston, despite it being a commercial airport it has a lot of history attached to it. I hope the plans don’t go ahead. Wonder if there is going to be another airshow here this year? Wasn’t there a successful attempt a year or two back which was very well attended and from memory brought traffic to a grid lock?
