I think the Iranian airforce would bite at the offer of a F14 Tomcat especially being delivered free of charge as well. Would be nice to see another example flying again!
Anyhow back to the thread, good luck F4 guys!
Nice acquisition for the museum, having recently visited the excellent De Havilland museum most of their airframes including their HS125 are open to the public for a walk through inspection. I haven’t been to Newark for a long time but apart from special events do you have public access to some of these airframes?
Great acquisition, all you need is the Valiant cockpit back to make it game set and match! I remember the museum having the Valiant cockpit some years back, didn’t this belong to Mr Ken Ward?
Great project always liked the Avro Tudor which the Ashton derived from. Hope you manage to complete the cockpit with the advent of time.
Fortunately because of people like Sgt Hancock who stood against tyranny we don’t have Sharia law in this country. But I share your sentiments.
Its not negative -its pointing out that many North and North West enthusiasts are going to find it expensive in fuel !That will be off putting to some!
It is a long way for the Northern boys granted but if its easier for sellers from the continent to attend and bring in some new stock to the scene then it may be worth the trip down. At the end of the day lets suck it and see if it’s a success or not. I certainly hope it will be.
In light of the recent auction prices and the media publicity around it I can see a few people looking at business opportunities to cash in on the potential value that these airframes could provide when sold in an open market to a wider audience. These airframes have probably come on the market at the right time for the MOD but the wrong time for the restorer/enthusiast. No doubt they will all competitively be sought after.
Just up the road is Manston and a couple more small museums.
Interesting thanks for this good idea, will have to look into this and make a day of the local area.

Wow! You sound really keen, are you already there camping outside?
Seriously I wish the new event well and will be there myself however I won’t be turning my attention to it until the week before. As Andy has already posted some replies to threads in the past couple of weeks I hope he keeps us updated on the progress of this event similar to the other aerojumbles he has organised in the past. The more publicity the better.
Nice items, worth quite a bit!
Just looked at the web site, never realised that they allowed the public inside the Lancaster for taxy rides, must try this out sometime. Good way to raise funds, wished more organisations did this.
Good to see you back posting on this forum Andy. Well done!
No, sadly not. All will become clear in good time.
Oh go in then do please tell us, pretty please ?
Be careful, make sure the glass is fully intact!
