Not trying to be funny or anything here, but, here’s an authentic
question, or a dilemma, that definitely needs sorting and the question is:
Why is it that there seemingly are so many unanswered questions (problems,
challenges, and obstacles what not) which seems to come out of no where
for the come from the behinders of Asia in the field aeronautics?

I mean for heaven sakes, sophisticated and awesome looking A/Cs
such as the Starfighter, as the Thunderchief, as the timeless MiG-21, as the legendary
Voodoos, and as the shock and awes of machines such as the Phantom had been built ever since the 50’s.
What seems to be the hold up, in this field, for Asian developers???

For example: The FC-1/JF-17 which had been on the drawing board
for God knows how long and to this day, the rumors that technical problems
are keeping it on the flight testing ground is unpresidented. Of course, to be
fair, then there’s this other one which fares no better either. I mean by
2015? Golly, by that time, all of these planes would be obsolete. It would be
something like that of the Red Baron’s Biplane in comparisoon to an F-14.

    http://www.rediff.com/news/2001/jan/13nad.htm

I mean can it really be that difficult to built an airplane???

    John,

Could the bottom two be what those engines are for?

Step aside JSF! And who needs Su-30s anyway?!

(Hyjacked from the pages of CMF a while back)

    Fuss 101:

Yeh! Now, the Chinese won’t be needing their Z-10s anymore. Niether do they
need to be concerned about the cost of training pilots for these costly beasts that looks more like
T-Rex than it does a chopper of kind. Thanks to Yamaha, the Chinese, I suppose, can now do their choppering
“virtually” over the monitors of their PCs than piloting them. Thumbs up, Yamaha!

But Damn… I wonder if the Yamaha that I bought for my
kids eons ago for them to prove that they are the next Mozart is any
deadlier than the Yamaha they just sold to the Chinese.

Isn’t it true that AIG’s are all about stealth, that it is less noisy than diesels
because it’s all about fuelcells? And, isn’t it a smoking gun of sort that the rumors
that the Yuan along with maybe some of the Song’s, a few Mings even are now super quite boats
an indication of sort that some of them may be fitted with the technology?

Example: Remember the incident where the Japanese Navy went almost bonkers
over the surprise appearance of this Chinese Ming class which popped up right in front of their
noses before it was even detected? Now why didn’t its sonars detect this Ming?

That Ming that caugh fire off
of the sea of Japan approx. a year ago was speculated
    as fiddling with German AIPs.

Don’t take it wrong. Sammie is praising the Tu-16.

Actually, I’m of the opinion that the Badgers of today may not be
the same Badgers as that of yesterday anymore, particularly those navalized
cruise missile hugging kinds by the Chinese better known as H-6’s.

Just as that of the J-7 verses that of the MiG-21s, the H-6’s are IMHO
and in all truth now a totally distinct and a totally different animal altogether from that
of the Badger of the 1950s. I mean who knows for a fact what sort of a tech, imported, transferred, or
indiginous, they may have inside of those monsters now days anyhow?

Logic: If against all odds that they can come up
with their own indiginous design for their AWAC systems, who knows
what other else they are capable of accomplishing?

Besides, if only everyone has the convictions, the commitments, and
the energy necessary to upgrade their products as do them there Chinese, who
needs B-52s anyway? I mean for every 50’s era B-52 that still flies today, I’d bet 10
H-6’s (metaphorical comparison) of relative equivalence can be had.

The H-6’s, IMHO, deserves way more credit than they had been
given here. Period! Incidentally, from a distance, wouldn’t you guys agree that
the H-6 have this almost B-1 like resemblance? I bet it wouldn’t be too difficult for them to redesign
the H-6, give it the same aerodynamics and power as that of the B-1, and Bingo!
You have a sleek and slender Mach-2 machine as the B-1? No?

Just a silly idea of course….

Its not Chinese, its the Russian AMUR 1650 sub.

Russian it is then even though the claim is that some six or eight
German firms are fighting tooth and nail for a piece of this cake and that
some of these competitors are said to be deeply involved in the AIP2 technologies and
in other R&Ds of this breed. Or so says my poor Babblefish anyhow.

Also, and as I had said, the Gertz hadn’t sounded the alarm on this one yet
so not to worry. Additionally, I thought I had dared them put their money where their mouth
is exactly as they did with the Yuan therefore not affixing any makers here…

However, the description, “The new type submarine of PLA Navy”, I believe
is in the English language and what BIG WORDS that is… But, can they back it up
again with substance exactly as they did that of the Lavi, the Thunder, the Yuan, the 093,
and the shock and awes of the 094, Z-10, and their Early Warning System?

I mean I hate people who brags. And, to prove that they’re
beyond a doubt not bragging here, an arbitrator such as that of the
almighty Gertz is definitely needed and much valued here…

I mean how realistic is it anyway that them there
    :p cheap-toaster-oven-makers :p of a Chinese are capable of
something this groovy and this otta sight anyhow?

    Not very likely! RIGHT?

PS: My Babblefish tells me the second
paragraph states that this AIP is similar to or are
closely resembles that of Russia’s 677.

    SOC,
How do i complaint aqainst you here. You are misusing your mod powers to favor a particular user/users. You have been deliberately doing that for sometime. As I even know what the verdict would be (obvious you are the moderator andhave beter rapo here with the owner). I suggest you should resign your modship on moral grounds. Else, this is the second time you have been threatening, as i have sucessfully proved your favoured user/users liars and spreading false information. Now don’t try to use your editing powers to supress this legitimate demand!

Again, not my beef. But, this is how I read things here any which way you
look at it so excuses please if I’ve stepped on some of your shoes here because
I have to be honest with myself and I have to be honest with my feelings.

My take: No question about it, the source of the trolling here is definitely HURT PRIDES. I mean
why this obsession towards the Chinese? I mean by golly, even a staunch Arian sympathizer of a Canuck such as
myself am not near as prejudice or near as discriminative as Curious George is towards these discreet, these introverted,
and these :p won’t hurt a fly harmless souls known as Chinese :p. So why the obsession???

And, to prove that I am not as racially as discriminative as Curious George
is towards these won’t hurt a fly harmless souls, I’ll tell you what, Guys: I’ll openly bid,
not only the Chinese everywhere in the world a happy, a prosperous, and yet another adventurous
and a healthy Lunar New Year, more than that, to prove my honesty I’ll even extend
this very goodwill and wish to people the world over and this includes all…

    “in the Kingdom of Never-Neverland :p !”

A Happy & Prosperous Lunar New Year World!

And fellas! Please don’t tick yourselves off over this silly stuff…
    http://www.wforum.com/wmf/posts/1115204786.html because,
I mean the might Gertz has not yet sounded the alarm just yet…

I dare them put their money where their mouth is 😮 !!!

My english is no better because I am lazy :p

Hahah! That, my friend, is just about the silliest of excuse I’ve
heard, EVER!. I mean English of all things? I mean haven’t you ever heard
of ESL? In other words: Why give in to the abuses of those who would exploit
English as tool to even the odds in their debates and arguments?

For people who make a fuss about your English, Kyli, too damn
bad for them is how I look at it. And, if I were you: I’d tell them to
learn Mandarin, Etheopian, Klingonese, Kavorkian as that of Mr. Spok’s :p , or
Hindi even – if they are that fussy and that particular about it :p.

I mean people must think they’re all from Oxford U or something!!!

There are nothing you and I can do to
change the mind of people/organizations which refuse to be more open
mind and acknowlege sometime they are wrong.

It’s a well known fact that all medias, regardless if they like it or not
and regardless if they’re eastern or if western, are all mouth pieces of their country.
And, playing along with those who call the shots in their country is the lifeline to their existence. In other
words: it’s their license to keep broadcasting therefore, understandable.

Dan Rathers, for examples, is a fine tell tale sign of such a delicate lifeline…

    Chacko, I can still
remember years ago …people go out of ways to many
military forum by claiming J10A do not exist.

Please have a heart, Kyli! Chacko’s pride is hurt and it’s hurt big time.
Therefore, he/it can be excused for his/its irrational behaviors. For example: What would
you have done and how would you feel if you’ve missed the last boat?

Mr. Chacko, when I first read the epoc(the very first edition), eventhrough they make up a lot of things. I still give them some credibilty, but after sometime they just make up lies after lie. I totally lost any faith of it, if anyone still think epoc is more credible than chinese newspaper. I am serious consider he/she to see a doctor(Do not take it as offense, I think your anti-china ruin your judgement 😀 ). Chinese newsp may not report everything, but at least if you take out the government content you still get the real news. If you want to use news sources against chinese govrt, you can find a lot of them at CNN, BBC and Foxnews. They are way much more credible than epoc.

While I would not put my faith on the media, any media, periodical, or
whatever; I am however open to the idea that popular far eastern tabloid-like sources, such as
Quanlong, China.com, Tom’s, even the likes of Kanwa, etc., etc., while innocent in their reportings, are
vulnerable of being exploited as tools and mouth pieces for orgainzations who may, intentionally,
wish to use it as a source to make unofficial statements
    and comments.

Western magazines, i.e., Mechanics Illustrated and Popular Science for examples…

Fortunately, your definitions of credibility is not mine. Pot should not kettle black. Reading Chinese mouthpieces is as pleasurable a reading Epoc. Both are extremes. Both as much credible as each other with EPOC being a bit more. BTW the number of Chinese poster isrising, so like last J-10 thread, is t ganging up again?

What have the Chinese ever done to you Chacko?

Or more specifically: What has :p the Chinese copy of the mighty Israeli
Lavi or the supposed Chinese reverse engineered copy of the mighty American F-16
which those darn Pakistanis had (supposedly of course) sneaked across their border,
or whichever denomination suites you, ever done to you Chacko? :p

    :p Or, alternatively, what has
the Pakistan JF-17 Thunder, or whatever’s bugging
you ever done to you Chacko? :p

Shish.. Some things are hard to swallow I suppose…

Lol, Holier than though? Why don’t you give me weeks off? You will have time to fill this thread with more fantacies.

Isn’t there a book “Truth Hurts – by The Liars”

Hah Hah! Actually, I think the word rude would’ve been more correct
because the word grumpy carries with it none of that bittersweet taste that
the word rude does :p. Anyway, all’s cool here in the edison front.

Damn! Misunderstandings misunderstandings. Is it human nature?

This is not personal Don Chan. But frankly, even if the claim is true, do any of you seriously believe that Beijing will publicly admit that they are building carriers? 😀

Imagine the headlines of Xinhua: “The Taiwanese military is correct, WE ARE BUILDING CARRIERS”. Or the PLA daily: “As part of China’s peaceful rise, carriers for the PLAN is paramount!”.

The question is not “IF” but “HOW MANY”.

Here’s my take: The saying “Where There’s Smoke, There’s Fire” is definitely
not without any merit. I mean I for one believes in the rights of existence of a Santa Claus for each
and every shopping mall durring the wee hours of Christmas, don’t you guys?

The number as to how many will IMHO have to depend on the number
of type 051 and 052 frigates and destroyers they will be pumping out in the years ahead. I mean
Santa Claus is no Santa Claus if without his prized raindeers you know.
