This is BS. Kanwa is not a fully reliable source. Half is true and the other half are stories from dreamland.
Kanwa:
IMHO, Kanwa have always picked up from where the Cream of the Crops
of the Chinese rumor mill (China.com, Xinhua Military, PLA Daily, Sina.com, Xilu.com,
Tom’s, Qianlong, CCTV China, and Russian sources) have left off, and Jane’s, as it seems, soon
follows to authenticate and put a seal on those rumors and speculations.
This, however, is not to say that the above is a hundred percent true
either, because, many of the Chinese sites above will now a days too refer to Kanwa as the source
of their information. I guess they are interdependent upon one another.
Fables or Facts:
My opinion: If the Chinese does not want for these informations to leak
to the public, then there’s no way in hell the above sites or medias can get a handle
on any of the informations — informations which I would deem as classified — and the Chinese military
is indeed treated as highly sensitive and extremely classified in China.
Potential Consequences:
China too have something similar to that of the PATRIOT Act and if these
media sources are into lies and fairytales, lies and fairytales which might prove detrimental
to the countries relations with other nations of the world, then I’m sure the Chinese PATRIOT Act
too would kick into high gear and the licenses of these editors and media operators taken
from them just as easily as I suspect Dan Rather’s had been taken from him.
Above is all speculations only of course. I mean who knows what Dan is really all about
except that there was a time he did tried to take on the system. I guess he didn’t realize that in life that he
too is no God and that he is just as human as the rest of us are and no more than that.
The poor man… I mean after all these years…

Ouch!!! someone got hurt 😀
I think it was the other way around. ET phone home and Ouch :p ?
Your indirect methods of insulting a nation shall be ignored
Your kiddin’. Where have I insulted a nation, any nation?
I mean is Antartica a nation? Are you a citizen of Antarica? If not,
then I don’t think I can be labled as insulting anyone or anything. I mean can’t people
look at this as metaphor rather than as an insult of kind?
And, if anyone had been insulted here, it
was the Chinese of this board who had been insulted by
the rudeness of the people of this board.
I suggest you visit china and look at whats happening before posting here
You have no idea…
I was there last year and I enjoyed every moment of it. Funny thing, Canada
felt almost a home away from home to me when I was there, with the exception that, instead
of pledging to pay taxes to Beijing, I pledged to pay taxes to Ottawa instead.
I don’t know why. But, somehow, someway,
there just seems to be this natural attachment once my
plane touches down at Pudong International.
.
2) Bill clinton has nothing to do with it, there are many many European companies going to china training the chinese in new aircraft construction methods.
Clinton:
Problem is: Anything that the Chinese manages to muster, come rain
or shine, “the term Chinese espionage unfailingly is somehow affixed”. Or, the
blame game naturally gets shifted to the Russians to a point where even Trolls from the
Southern hemisphere (refering to the penguins of Antartica of course) bought it lock stock and
barrel. Convienent isn’t it? And, simple minded organisms aren’t they?
Or, if worst comes to worst, and… if all else fails,
like it or not, el Presidente Bill Clinton gets handed the dead cat to
tend to and to care for . I feel for the Guy really.
Truth: Western mentality at its best when it comes bigotry towards
the Chinese. I mean it was not I who blamed it on Clinton, it was the west who blamed Chinese
advancements in science & technology squarely on Bill Clonton.
European Training:
If I’m not mistakened, the EU got so freaked out over Washington’s
insistance that they stay clear off of a China on tech transfers such that
“they chickened out on the lifting of the arms embargo on the Chinese”. So, how then does
the Europeans get around this sensitive and this delicate matter?
Baffled.
.
Vikraal:
The only problem with debating someone who suddenly pretends not to understand english is that after a while you start going around in circles and then it gets boring. There are only so many “racial slurs” that I can come up with and its a sheer waste of my american pop culture based sarcasm/poor attempt at humor to address my “racial slurs” to these guys. I am not sure if their call center grade pakistani translators can decipher them.Maybe I should stick to stuff they use like us one me like “Stupid” and “Idiot” and other childish invectives. The drones will never admit they are wrong (they cant coz if they do then they are not drones), heck they dont even know what AWST is, its all BR’s #. If its not printed on their shiny brochures its all rumours. I am sorry I dont have a shiny brouchure which says that Su-30K were ever grounded but I did see them fly about 21 days after the last reported nicks and grounding and was brush off when I started talking about the “groundings” by being edumacated about sparing factors and warrenties. I tell you the IAF are great illusionist maybe they can teach the Ukeranians how to do the same tricks and they might help out the Chinese when their photochops fail.
But this thread is boring now, I might as well start copy pasting my own replies for the predictable retorts these drones are going to come up with.
Funny thing about Hollywood… I mean one can always tell a Troll attack before
the director would even lead us towards the direction because Troll attacks are so distinct
it’s one of the kind. They’ll come at you in droves if their demands are not met.

R u official firefighter of AFM forum or do we say as GJ likes Oracle forum?
“name calling, fun-poking, and the stone throwing” favor
Huh! Have u bothered to read from start or just bumped in. If u have read all the posts, then it should remind u who is the culprit.
I know your audience well, and I know for a fact that they are not “the outright
name calling, fun-poking, and the stone throwing kind” that we see so often in the net.
In fact, to keep out of confrontations, your audience are usually quite accommodating – they keep clear
of all heated arguments unless of course they’ve been pushed into it by insults.
Your audience definitely does not have this obsessiveness or this almost self
destruct behaviors that some in this board does. Your audience inarguably is more inteligent in their
behaviors than those who reverts to rudness as a means of getting their ways.
.
Hey guys,
What is with this?
http://www.kanwa.com/dnws/showpl.php?id=96
“Multiple Moscow-based sources from the Russian military industry claim that China is negotiating with Russia on the purchase of xxx RD93 turbofan engines for the production of FC1/JF17 fighters. Meanwhile, China is also considering importing xxx AL31FN turbofan engines for its J10A production line. There has been new suspicion among Western military observers whether China is going to downsize the production of J10A and to turn to produce more FC1 fighters to replace the huge retiring J7 fleet of PLA Air Force (PLAAF).”
Seems more like a speculation than any hard evidence.
But I think their might be a hint of logic to this because I think Replacing 1000s of old planes by J-10s and Sukhois alone is going to be very unrealistic approach. China needs to put in all of its newer generation planes into its inventory.
At the same time Kanwa is saying J-10B is entering Batch production..
(c) COPYRIGHT RESERVED 2001 Kanwa Information Center Canada
My opinion:
Believe it! The Chinese of today is not the same as the Chinese
of yesterday. They are now a money hungry, a bank account happy,
and, a purely wealth consumed capitalistic society who is willing to sell its soul
to the highest bidder for a piece of that rich and yummy cake…
“Hence, the export market (FC1/JF17) is its priority…
I mean just imagine the potential riches of a 1000 FC1/JF17 split between
the developers of this plane for the export market and you’d probably go out of your way to try
make it a successfull product. Definitely affordable to the world you know.
Far as the J-10 is concerned. I don’t think the Chinese feel that it’s a priority.
Reason: The Chinese do not foresee any real enemy for which they need to be concerned about.
Hence, national defence is not as major of a concern as income and business.
.
Dude, WTF is your post supposed to mean?
Did you type it in Mandarin and run it through an online translator or something? It is totally garbled and doesnt make any sense whatsoever.
Wherever you are from, BV, don’t they teach you how to read lips? I mean
even our ex-Presidente, the Senior George Walker, gestured for people to read his lips
when he was el-Presidente. Shouldn’t we all be practicing lip reading then?
And Mandarin? What’s that? Manners, Dude! Manners! I love the pledge
of allegiance applied by NATO eons ago that an attack on any member of NATO is an attack
on all of NATO. It comes natural to the human species don’t you agree?
.
Right mate. I would like to add one thing for George, whatever u r trying to make dumbheads here understand, they wont b’coz their only intention is to bring disrepute/malign the IAF rather than any intention of learning/understanding. For them who have made up the superiorness to PS versions of AC, missiles etc etc, they cannt stomach that indians have more clear & transperent system, can put forward Qs to ppl in command & get answers to their curiosity, while they have to just make jingoistic statements like plaaf will, wants should be etc dreams. For ppl who havent even been to their country less to the AF bases, they just cannt comprehend how free & democratic country works & how their autocratic is works.
Easy Guys! Easy!!!
I mean do you Guys want for your “intended audience” to return
the “name calling, fun-poking, and the stone throwing” favor? I don’t think so.
Because name calling and all of the above is a two way street.
Facts: If push comes to shove I’m sure your audience can be just
as mean, as dirty, and there’ll be a full fledge war of stone throwing happening
here in AFM… just a scenario only of course because I’m sure your audiance isn’t as
insensitive. Insensitivity is reserved strictly for the well educated :p …
Rude manners, violence, and mean tactics does not a Starfighter
or a Flanker make – cool heads, an open and enquiring mind, a commitment to
success, and disciplines – not irrational behaviors – somehow are.
Just a thought…
.
Rumor, rumor, it is all rumor. Numbers are made up or beautify to satisfy your pride (delusional level). It is just an example of pluging your ancient beautiful myth story into this modern day.
Just answer all my questions, and provide me the source.
Don’t just circling around, calling others as drones, using racial slur and low level jokes, attacking on other’s English level. It wouldn’t prove any of your points. It only makes your-self look ridiculous.
I’ll second that if the :p Mod Squat :p of AFM won’t.
That ranting was uncalled for, it was lame to say the least, and, it shows
the weaknesses in the person(s) who uses such excuses as a tool to win fights and
arguments rather than using their smarts, their logic, or their substance.
Why! That’s like the term – bawling over spilled milk!
.
Unfortunately I was talking about China, not Canada.
As for the Arrow, it was impressive, but it was a result of it’s contract specificatons. The F-102 and F-106 may have been far better had they been designed with that kind of range in mind. They weren’t, so they came in a lot smaller.
Sorry SOC, but, when you used the term “your country“, naturally I had to come to the
defence of the Arrow because it’s part of my proud heritage. As far as the F-102 and
F-106 is concerned however… No offence! But I heard both was inspired by the Arrow.
Canuck propaganda maybe. But, we did take the wind tunnel model
to your country for the aerodynamics because we didn’t have such facilities. It was said that
the F-102 and F-106 was not on the drawing boards yet at that time.
What do I know however.
.
WTF is wrong with you? Illiterate or what?
Hi, BV,
The Acronym WTF, is it a term popularly used in your neck of the
woods to solve problems? I mean I see words like that used in the net all the
time and it’s usually utilized when an argument or a debate is lost.
Strange how personalities can innocently take on changes practically
without any due cause or any reasoning whatsoever. I wonder if that’s what’s popularly
known as multiple personality syndrom within the medical community?
You seem to be arguing just for the sake of arguing
and ‘saving face’. Why dont you give it up and admit that George was right? Or dont you have
even that basic decency to admit when you have been proved wrong?
Saving face:
Actually, BV, I think it’s more a case of your refusing to accept that
which might not be to your liking, hence the arguments. Regardless, as far as I know,
the psycology of saving faces is now a Jurrasic a thing for the world of the crobs. They don’t practice
it anymore over there these days. They learnt from the Americans and they learnt from
them well – they now enjoy the practices of finger language instead.
I ought to know. I was there last years and while I gave some of
them a great big thumbs up as a gesture of goodwill, my thumb, surprisingly,
was taken as an offence and they gave me the fingers back instead. I guess they expect a
tip instead of a worthless gesture. I mean who can blame them.
.
If you had any idea about
what it takes to build an aircraft you wouldnt
be asking such a question.
I think Sukhoi started churning out Su-27s and MiG followed suite in no less with their
MiG-29s which is roughly 5 years after the debute of the F-14s and F-15s. Or so goes the documentary
on Soviet Airpower and how MiG used espionage to get blueprints of the latter which had enabled them to
compete with the US in the fighter jet arena. It was on Knowledge Channel I believe.
The JF-17 and all of its peers, however goes way back – way way back.
And, if I’m not mistaken, the JF-17 and peers had their starts in the 70s and in the 80’s.
Now why is it that the Soviets are so much more quicker at delivering?
And before you hark on about the recently redesigned
J/F-17 or the J-11 (oops sorry my bad) or i mean the J-10 please do remember that within
the last few years the chinese have had a mirriad of western concerns setting up training camps in China,
and without these you would have very little to be jingoistic about.
Blame it on Bill. I do! I mean it’s all Bill’s fault — Clinton that is…
.
No.
Unless, of course, your nation goes off on a completely ridiculous tangent for ten years, setting back intellectual thought a whole generation.
Well… I must admit, I too am damn mad at Diefenbaker for killing
the Avro Arrow project. I mean what a lost. The Avro Arrow was a beauty.
It was state of the arts at the time and no one even came close — not even Kelly Johnson, not even
Mikoyan Gurevich, not Dassault Aviation. Anyway, that’s why we call Dief.
a screwball because we could have been the leader of the pack.
.
The chinese fighter Shengyang J8-II is now well known.
Apparently the first protype (J8-I) flew in 1969 or something like that (I’m not very sure…).
Was it (at the beginig) a chinese derivative of the russian fighter
Ye-152A “flipper” (some kind of Mig-21 on steroids, who flew at 2800km/h with one engine at the begining of the sixties).
Anyone knows about that ?
My Oh my, seems the Chinese have got a blueprint for
practically everything that propels itself forward on two legs or that
which is on wheels now haven’t they? How convienent.
.
