What’s that supposed to mean? Grow up! 😡 Or do I misunderstand? Sorry then.
They are quite expensive. £134.10 return flight +taxes EDI-BRU-EDI.
BMi flies twice daily from E. Midlands to Brussels with ERJ 145s.
Well in 45 minutes you wont experience the Special Performance, which is high & fast flying. In it’s time it was the longest range aircraft.
Still, It would be a nice chance for not too much money. But you only have one third or so to enjoy a window seat.
Interesting.
BMi flies three to four times a day from Edinburgh to Brussels with ERJ 145’s, sometimes 135’s. These are the only ERJ’s we have at Brussels. Boring Brussels. highly boring Brussels.
Many airlines, like DAT Sabena, may have purchased F70/100’s if Fokker weren’t in trouble. If those airlines would have purchased them, Fokker probably survived.
I think the F50 was a good move, so were the pther jets. I wonder why actually Fokker got into trouble. Was interest in their aircraft so low then???
The Dutch government made a terrible mistake. If they would have invested, Fokker would be a strong company now.
Both of them are in use, but runway 2 starts at 15:00 or 15:30
Why?
The performance is only an estimation. Even the advanced computers can’t calculate that clearly. Therefore the performance might be better or worse than the calculated. This was the case with the 777-300ER, obviously this was the same with the A345.
It, of course depends on the operator, but with normal flag carriers can operate profitable when half of the plane is full. For example, SNBA is loaded for 55% and made a small profit. With ARJ’s not being the most efficient aircraft, this is a whole achievement.
However, SIA offers more service and has higher overall costs, so I’d say 60-70% for this airline.
Aircraft usually have excess cargo space. Therefore, other cargo not belonging to passengers is also taken. This is more with Long Range aircraft. If the airline chooses not to take other cargo, the aircraft can take off with a few tonnes less – reducing fuel consumption.
GE or PW engines? Not RR because they look different.
Doesn’t matter what planes they get, in flight entertainment and food will always remain at a low quality.
The second runway is included in FS2004. But when was it opened?
In the meanwhile, other charter companies have increased their capacity. Thomas Cook Belgium have called some 757’s to Belgium for the summer season. Thomas Cook Germany is now flying tourists around with 767’s, and TNT passenger service has also shown up.
I doubt Sobelair will return. Now that TUI airlines Belgium has been started up again, it would be silly to break it down again and start Sobelair again. A big part of the previous employees at Sobelair are now working at TUI airlines Belgium. You can guess that the employees won’t be happy with another unresting situation.
I believe the most realistic thing that could happen now is a name change. I hope Vastapane understands that the market is currently already fulfilled. I don’t think there is any room left for more charter airlines.
Did some searches, and the mentioned RJ is the VFW 614. It had a range of 1500-2000 km and carried 40-50 passengers. You can compare it with the ERJ145 or CRJ200, which consume half the amount of this jets.
Efficiency is needed to make RJ’s profitable. With the current fuel prices, efficiency became even more important.
Hope this helps.
Actually, RJ’s only started to show up in the beginning of the 90’s. There was a strange RJ around 1975 or so, don’t know much about it. It was a flop. The airlines didn’t understood there was a market for it.
Also, the current RJ’s are specialised in short distances.
I can’t explain my ideas about it clearly in English. Sorry
If pumps fail, the crew is automatically noticed by low fuel pressure on the EICAS. When this occurs on older planes, the engines might fail unless other pumps are activated immediately. Where do you get the idea about Fuel Pumps from?
I think the Indonesian ATC doesn’t have proper facilities. Probably the air traffic controllers are not as good trained as the ones in Australia and Far East. It could be coincidence.
Plus, posting links is better because then the views count for that picture. This is correct.
