Fake again for me too.
No they were not at the bottom. They were just below mid if i remember right.Bemused55 i think she is the last one operating under british register.
Fake for me too.
If you read my post on the reason the Tristar was used you might grasp it ?? It is not a case of when an a/c goes tech to wait around for a new one to keep the likes of you happy. The business priority is to get hold of what you can when you can to minimise the delay. The Tristar was not on standby for MyTravel it just happens to be the first one they could get hold of.As for the age of the fleet you are well off the mark with that too.Yes 4 of the 757’s and the 1 DC10-30 are old but not the rest of the fleet ? For example to a look at Monarch with their 757’s and A300’s pretty old too ? And your remark regarding holidays from hell is off the mark too.Airtours are not on there more then any other company, mabye last night i didnt see it but as a rule its a fairly even split.Do you have some sort of personnel problem wtih them ?
Yeah it is a 500 series.
” MYT ought to get their arses into gear ” They are trying to run a business not a charity to start with. Also the amount that the article said the passengers were given is not correct. As we all know the press are not the best at getting the facts right. Not wanting to start an argument but Britannia do not give out £14.00 per person for a two hour delay either. 🙂
Had it confirmed now the pprune event of things is correct. The gril has simply forgotten the door was armed wnt to open it and hey presto the slide gets blown. It does happen a lot more than you would think too.
Trying to find out the full details as we speak. But from reading into the article it’s a new crew member who has blown a slide. How i don’t know yet but i will tell all when i know.
I saw one of their A300’S down in LPA about 2 weejs ago.Not seen one since though ?
Sorry if i was a bit slow had a long day at work 😉
Right i see what you are saying. However the reason the Tristar was operating that flight is one of the company 757’s went tech.As its the summer we dont have any spare a/c so its a case get what you can to get the passengers down there. The loss of the three DC10-10 a/c has been taken into account and they are no longer part of the figures.
Cheers by738.I too think that there is a bit of tarmac just where she is ? Seems very strange though to have a tiny bit like that on on taxi way ? Any of our photo shop lads shed any light on it ?
Sorry here it is
A 757-200 went tech. Sorry but don’t really understand the rest of your post re the DC10-10’s ?
When an company a/c goes tech you can’t be picky about what a/c type you select. You have passengers both waiting to go away and waiting to come home.RIPCONCORDE you get your hands on what you can at the time weather its a Tristar or not.In this case the Tristar did come cheap, however can you imagine operations saying no sorry we don’t want a Tristar so we will put 233 passengers in a hotel till a better option arises ? Look at the bigger picture in a business sense. 😎
