Fransis, you beat me to it, nice to see you today, hope 894 run went well, you boys do leave it late though 🙂

If Id have known you were there snapping away I would have smiled from the ‘hot seat’

The weather really played ball today and so did 904, all servicable, apart from a little flap seal leak, which we must attend to asap.
Both engines ran up to 98% no snags.

Hope these cheer FMK.6John up 🙂

Here’s a few of mine that I managed to get

And just for a Xmas treat we pushed her all the way back into the hanger for a few shots, just practising 🙂
(mind you it did give us chance to make sure they fit in :D, its only just though)

Classic, Ive not seen that one before, we do warn people not to stand there, what do they expect, there’s alot of horses round the back end 😀

Thats me doing the arm waving and chock chucking, got wet though that day, our star turn the late Brian Carrol in the seat if I remember rightly.

    Thats for posting 🙂

Lovely John, just lovely, Ive seen a few of those clips before but not others, a nice mix, and a lovely WAAF on ATC, very nice 🙂

Nice to see the German ‘battle flight sheds’ which were a different design to our UK QRA sheds, of which I now know plenty, if there’s anything you need to know about steel structures, concrete and now cladding Im the man to ask

Many thanks for brighting my morning up:D

I will up date the Q shed thread tomorrow as we plan to give 904 a little stir and carry on workning on 728’s reheat snag, if the weather plays ball.

    Cheers

Got some piccies of both days, I will post them later.

    Thanks:)

If you post a photo of yourself on the forum standing on the new apron in a fairies outfit then I’ll make a donation towards the cladding! 😀

Come on people, anyone else like to make same offer? Lets help get the ladies under cover.

Oh, and a bit late from me, but obsolutely great job on the flooring and a very big congrats to all the team 🙂

Ummmmm, you drive a hard bargin, its freezing up there with full thermals, scarves, hats and overalls, god knows what it would be like in a fairy outfit.
I know Im dedicated to the cause but thats pushing it abit 😀

Just driving past on Sat – couldnt resist a pic or two now the Lightnings have been towed to the QRA pan…

of all the acheivements this year in Historic Aviation, the Lightning Boys IMHO are certainly on the top of the tree.

    Well done fellas!

    TT

Thanks Ben, its not been easy but these things never are, we are not home and ‘dry’ yet but rest assured if 2007’s fund raising goes as well as 2006 we should have a roof over them by next Christams, at the moment Im talking to cladding companies, sending out drawings and getting in some quotes that will enable us to get a definate cost idea for the funding target for 07.

When you say ‘top of the tree’ does that mean Ive got to wear a fairies outfit 😀

Cheers all and thanks for the support

Hi all, here’s one of my snaps of her,

    http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a273/320psi/P7220568.jpg

As Steven says she needs alot of indepth work and more importantly money spending on her, she is far from taxiable.

All the best Steven, just keep her looking respectable

Blimey, 14K makes the amounts we payed for 728 and 904 sound cheap, and ours were both flown in all working with no stripping and transport costs.

Ummmmm, I hope the potenstial buyer knows the implications 🙂

John, thanks for the plug, 🙂 the comment ‘how do you give money to groups to save lightnings?’ interests me,
Landraver, did you know about our QRA shed project and that we are still 20K short of finishing it to house our two F6’s ?
Have a look at this thread http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?t=48646&highlight=qra+bruntingthorpe

Any donations are gladly recived, though our web site. 😀

And John is correct we were invited over to give XN728 a look over a few months ago the owner wanted to know if she was resortable and was asking if we could help out, the honest answer was no, not without a hell of alot of time and money, she looks so sad, maybe its best to put her out of her misery, sad I know but she should have been saved 15 years ago.
    You cant save em all

    Lovely pics, thanks for posting.

Real shame about 724 I know Charles Ross has her best interests at heart is is doing all he can to look after her.

    Such a shame

    Andy,
I did notice the difference in food between the two groups eating arangements when i came to the Antident run. You guys sat there eating sandwiches and i later walked past the Bucc guys facility.

So no toasted or flame grilled super cars this time? 🙂 🙂

Well you see we are the die hards on site, no messing about with fancy eating facilties, flask of tea and a cheese butty is all we bother with.
We take 5 mins for lunch they take 2 hours 😀

No messing with these lightning boys you know 😀 QRA and all that old fruit 😉

Better not upset them to much, their shackles are on our jet pipe trolley

    😀
