Whilst on the face of it, moving the BP collection to Norwich sounds attractive, but I would think that most of the knowledgable volunteers and ex employees are from the Wolverhampton area with all the problems that would bring for continuity. Wouldn’t Cosford be a viable alternative?

I’m going to have to declare open house as I’m away this weekend.

Could serial on underside of Anson in second shot be N92??
Does that fit in any Anson serial runs?
Roger Smith.
N97– yes but not N92–
John
Except that the code letter J usually didn’t have a cross bar, so it’s probably “T”.
John
Absolutely correct. Hydra a mythical beast with many heads (Double octagon engine).
A bit different than it’s later hovering relative.
The circuit’s yours.
John
Talk about heads up, is there anybody hovering with an answer.
John
Probably a case of the early days of retracts. “Oh dear I forgot”. All too common.

Hi
Yes I think you might be right. I can “just” disern a yellow ring and perhaps a demarcation on the nose. But could still be one of Yatesbury’s.

The exhaust stacks can be blamed on Dick Melton who used to come on raiding parties. Also the Mk V wheels. I delivered our three spoke 12″ wheels to Coltishall and Dick gave me the Mk.V units in exchange. LA255 was kept in the hangar over winter and spent most of the summer out in front of the hangar. It’s first restoration was due to (then Flt Lt) Mike Shaw (The author of Twice Vertical).

Looking at the Anson, it’s a Mk 1 and it has early roundels with no Yellow outline and it appears to have no proper camouflage pattern. This makes me think that assuming that this is in the Filton area and of similar date if it might be a Munich camouflaged a/c of 2 Civilian Air Navigation School based at nearby Yatesbury and run by the Bristol company. (Ansons from 1938)

First find your Jaguars, I think sadly they are a bit thin on the ground.
