Fab photos Rob, got to say I LOVE the first one 🙂

Arriving at Heathrow at around 6.45pm for my 10.05pm flight, there was no *I feel that the airline has a duty to feed the paying passengers, before it starts to feed sought-after meal choices to its staff!
In addition, the meal service should be improved. The quality of the food is great, but the three options offered in economy do not work, and a lot of passengers are left feeling disappointed. The airline is trying to stand out from the crowd by offering three choices, when it should instead stick to two – both meat dishes. Vegetarian passengers can pre-order vegetarian meals at the time of booking, as they would with any other airline. Doing this would ensure that the right amount of vegetarian meals are carried, and that meat-eating passengers get the offer of a dish containing meat.
Well first of all I would like to say what a fantastic report, great to read. Sounds like you had a good trip. 🙂
However, I had to comment on a few things.*
Firstly you say that the airline needs to think about it’s passengers before feeding well sort after meal choices to the crew…from personal experience as crew, this is never the case. We get totally different meals from the passengers (sometimes they are the same or very similar to the pax meals but usually they are totally different)
The second point about having three choices in economy…I can see the argument both for an against. At the airline I fly for, we also offer 3 choices in economy; 2 meat and 1 vegetarian. Your right in the sense that passengers are left feeling disappointed, however ALL passengers – if they they so wish – can pre-order there meal choice when making their booking, whether it’s vegetarian or a meat choice. Since I started working onboard, I was surprised at how many different types of meal that passengers can pre-order.*
One point I would like to make, and this isn’t aimed at you, is that sometimes passengers forget their on a plane…if we run out of something, we cant just pop to the local supermarket.*
Brilliant photos, especially the Jet2.com and Singapore.
And to top it off, you got nice weather in Manchester, something thats usually unheard of!
Great to see some photos from Leeds. I particularly like the first one of ‘LF’ cos I spent 11 hours on her that day!
My favourite has the be the US Airways A330….reminds me of my trip with them to Las Vegas last November.
Love the photos Matt, especially the first one 🙂
Last film I watched was East is East on e4 the other night, that is one quality film! 🙂

Im travelling from MAN to AGP in June, Does a 757 serve this route?
Does this mean that both myself and partner will be seated next to each other with one of us allocated on the child seat??
Rick
I also work for Jet2.com on the ground but at Leeds. I can tell you that on Monday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday the flights are operated by 757s, whereas on a Friday it’s a 737.
Enjoy your flights.
The best that I’ve flown on:
Lufthansa – I thought the crew were friendly and professional, spoke perfect English on a flight that was from Portugal to Germany, the food was lovely (and I’m the worst eater ever!) and were just generally great.
British Airways – I’ve never had any problems with them whatsoever and have always gone that extra mile to solve any problems that we may have had.
US Airways – Well…the crew were a little on the geriatric side of life, but I thought it made them take more pride in the job they were doing. Great staff, friendly and attentive.
The worst that I’ve flown:
Iberia – For an airline that is the flag carrier of Spain, they did very little to make anybody want to fly on them again. The crew were miserable and for the majority of the flight other than the service you didn’t see them hovering around trying to help any passengers. Also for a national carrier, I didn’t agree that you had to pay for drinks and snacks.
Can’t think of any other bad airlines that I’ve flown with…most of the time I have a pleasant and enjoyable flight.
At the moment I’m reading ‘Heist’ by Howard Sounes.
It’s all the World’s Biggest Cash Robbery in which £53 million was robbed down in Tonbridge, Kent.

LS used to have a charter only base at STN, not sure if that’s still the case. Perhaps FlyMonarch can enlighten us.
1L.
It does indeed still have a charter only base at STN with only one aircraft based there full time.
When booking a recent easyJet flight to Amsterdam, it came to my attention that as of last month, passengers travelling to Germany, The Netherlands, France and Italy must also provide their API.
Just wondering….. :p:confused:
It is not that case at all. The only country that you must provide Airline Passenger Information is when you travel to Spain. For other countries in Europe you do not need to provide this information.
Yeh I’ve seen these before aswell over Morley, Leeds. Quite a few people from Leeds actually wrote to the Yorkshire Evening Post Newspaper about them, but no one could say what they actually were / are.
