7. And finally, perhaps this one: http://www.strategypage.com/militaryforums/6-53063.aspx
I do not believe anything about active cancellation, but for those who wonder, the PDF are about the fact that the DGA is working on a discretion demonstrator for the Rafale.
They are preparing the future, it seems.
Rafale’s CFTs are smaller than the Typhoon’s.
Only 1150L.
But with weight creep, France got what it did not want – a fighter with an engine that needed an increase in power …up to EJ200 level.
But please do believe an AFM article with proven mistakes (e.g. No. of Laser warners).
No problem, I wasn’t suggesting anything at all. I just noticed this figure was unusual, and i couldn’t choose a better link to say how strange i thought M1.1 was.
In addition, the good point is that Toan gave us all others sources. 😀
SC of Mach 1.1 is a tad low?
YES.
We were used to M1.3, even M1.5 according to some sources…
Auch ohne Nachbrenner-Einsatz ist ein Marschflug mit ca. Mach 1,5 möglich (Supercruise).
It wasn’t Red Flag.
Rafale did go there so as to train before Red Flag.

It seems that finally, the Rafale will do only air-to-air missions in Red Flag, though originally assigned to both A2A and A2G.
Was it Singapore or South Korea who rated the Rafale rather high?
Both.
It has some problems however. Two of them: The price tag, and the fact that it is French… :diablo:
Ok for the fact it’s French.
Not for the price tag. It has a quite low fly away cost, for example (51M€ max).
Did anyone hear about the Italian Typhoon vs Rafale M (in March 2007) ? A bit sensitive too ? 🙂
Negociations with Libya have been extended by 3 months.
This confirms that if they sign, this should happen in Autumn.
Rafale – Mach 1.2 with 4 missiles + tanks
=> Rafale – Mach 1.2 with 4 missiles + tank
With 2 tanks, it’s less, as far as i know.
But, in the meantime, Rafale fans can cheer up a bit. 🙂

Rafale !
I really doubt that HAF would refuse to consider those evolution.
On the other hand, tests can be done on AESA prototypes I think.
As far as I remember, the DRAMAA has been flown on the M2000 last year (first quarter of 2007).
Here is the link to the Thalès website.
Thales expects to move into integration testing on board the Rafale in the second quarter of 2007.
Series production start-up is scheduled for late 2010.
Since this document (23th april 2007), all i know is that our authorities are very satisfied with the demonstrations of this prototype.
The array should use more than 1000 modules, improve detection range by 50% (which implies a huge increase of the scan volume), and improve the angular coverage in azimuth (Fox Three n°11).
The F3 standard is qualified by the DGA since the July the 1st.

The problem of course is, where is France going to sell 45 greek Mirage + 63 (?) UAE Mirage…
The UAE’s Mirage interest Egypt, Pakistan and Jordania.
So, this would leave the 45 remaining M2000.
To answer about a previous question about whether the SPECTRA was used in Greece.
As reported in a greek forum citing a defence magazine, more than 20 HAF pilots, flew as backseaters with the Rafale B, they said they were impressed by cockpit, data links and SPECTRA, but said they would like more engine thrust.
It’s quite funny those guys didn’t said a single word about the radar… 😀
