Hangars at Wyton will be of little use to Marshalls, too small and too old.
New hangars, offices and associated ramps will be required, preferable well away from the existing and well used RAF buildings, some of which IIRC were built over the western end of the taxiway.
For those that do not know Wyton is home to one of UK’s main intelligence hubs and as such is a very secure site and is unlikely to be considered available.

Mildenhall, despite its issues, offers a great deal for Marshall’s. Location, unlimited expansion, existing facilities and happy neighbours.

Assuming the draw down of USAF forces at Mildenhall continues, HC-130J and MV-22 to Europe and KC-135 and RC-135 to Fairford, dates vary but 2027 seems a often quoted date. Then time scale for the return of USAF operation to MOD and subsequent sale or lease to Marshalls would seem to be a convenient coincidence. It would appear to tick all the boxes, long runway, existing hangars, large parking /storage ramps and ample room for expansion. Probably the two most important factors are Mildenhall is close enough to transfer existing staff and it is probably the only place in the country where the locals are happy to live near an airfield. Many already work on the base as civilian contractors and will appreciate the employment. With the right planning and incentives Mildenhall could become an important part of the UK aviation scene.

Given the success of the screening of “The Dambusters” movie couple of years ago it is surprising that “The Battle of Britain” could not be shown across UK mainstream cinemas.

    A few questions.
Have any of the RNHF aircraft appeared on the CAA register ?
When they do lets hope the paper work will allow a quick transition for engineering and pilot training and let us continue to see the aircraft flying regularly around the UK.
Regarding engineering support for the current RNHF who employs the men and women. Is there a core team of permanent staff, like the BBMF, or do engineers just ‘drop in’ when their day job allows.
As a private ‘Trust’ will these existing engineers be transferred from the MOD or will a whole new team have to be recruited.
Understand that the RNHF have a hangar at Yeovilton. Will this still be available free of charge and in the long term could it be made accessible for public visits.
Finally let us hope that the familiar RNHF sales caravan can still be seen out and about at UK airshows, even if the aircraft are not available public exposure and fund raising is still most important.

Very sad that 9 sqn at Lossimouth can not keep the complete Tornado ZG775.
After being the first operational RAF Tornado squadron with continuous service. The Squadron deserves better than just a tail to remember past endeavours. After all what use is the airframe now ?

Are the airliner repaints being sponsored by British Airways ? They are planning a lot of PR regarding their 100th Anniversary. Including painting B747 and A319 in BOAC and BEA schemes.

Sad news. Hope new people can step in to help out. Assume North Weald Flying Services (NWFS) still own or lease the buildings and it does not mean a slow decline in public access and activities at North Weald.
Must have been hard to keep the business open on a full time basis with obvious competition from the Cafe adjacent to the Air Ambulance.

Interesting comment about the tyre tread pattern. Why would NF require a different tyre ?

The yard in question has other aircraft wrecks, some with less that happy stories to tell. Guess that is why they are less than friendly towards people visiting the site. Sadly this news item will only encourage the ‘wrong sort’ of interest. Wrecks and Relics lists the Whirlwinds as XJ407, XP328 and XP329
