I agree with you, I think the F-4J/S are the best looking Phantoms.
I spoke to an ex US Navy pilot, and former VF-302 CO. I was suprised when he said the F-4N was the best dogfighter. He said because it was lighter it could turn very well. According to him the slats on the F-4S made it much easier, and safer to fly, but bleed energy very fast. Some former USAF aircrew have told me the same thing about the F-4D vs late F-4E comparisions.
