I have just been asked about a typo in #13 (now corrected) and from the BBMF paperwork that has been returned I would like to confirm the following situation:

These are now detailed as follows: Saturday 15th June – Spitfire ; Sunday 16th June – Lancaster, Hurricane & Spitfire. 🙂 Sorry for any confusion! 😮

This year the Hangar 2 displays look like they could be even better than usual! 🙂

    Does everything need spelling out?

Yes it does re-read your post!

…Contrast that with a similar earlier episode, Callaghan simply sent a nuclear submarine down there on patrol, Argentina decided that their navy would be safer in port, no war very little expense, simple, but not simple enough for Thatcher, reputedly the first thing she requested when told of the invasion was to ready Ark Royal and her compliment of aircraft for service.

 So what you’re proposing is that after they’d invaded was to send down another sub and nuke ’em?

I have been asked by the people at the museum to reiterate that it is a special discounted admission price of £4.00 per person tomorrow – apparently they’ve taken many phone calls today from people wanting to know this information!

All of the 40th Anniversary news items in here have also been updated with this information!

The Anniversary cake is now pictured in here!

FlyPast has supported the last two UK Cockpit-Fests financially (thanks NP & everyone in Stamford) and I would like to think that they might do so again. 🙂

Since the changes that followed KE’s semi-retirement and the reduction in support, I have personally worked hard to try and fill the shortfall that ensued and I am very grateful to a lot of additional support that has been forthcoming – including from several forumites! 🙂

You know who you are and many thanks! That includes some passes and tickets from Justin and the Kansas team – thanks to you.

After tomorrows event at NAM – my emphasis will be switching to Cockpit-Fest 2013 and the associated Aeroboot / Aerojumble.

With the media being so biased on this subject, people have looked for another way to voice their opinion. It does not matter if some people see the song as being in bad taste, the BBC has broken its own rules.

Sorry bb but the BBC has banned records for as long as I can remember, in this case they have chosen a fudge to try and keep both factions happy!!

Yesterday the Lightning T5 received some additional markings (ready for this weekend’s 40th Anniversary Gala & next month’s Tribute to the Lightning events); a few photographs can be found in here! 🙂

I have more of a packaging industry background and as a consequence I’d missed the Baker Perkins connections; I have mostly relied on the Rose-Forgrove heritage aspects that I’m more familiar with.

I seem to recall a Nev Franklin photograph from the late 1960s of the turret on a trailer somewhere in Lincoln on what appears to have been a ‘round robin’ trip to collect various aviation items that also included a large four bladed wooden propeller! So perhaps Fillingham Castle may be the original source.

……I’ve taught Early English history – by invitation – at private schools. My teaching aids were flags, symbols and modern made copies of various artefacts from the relevant period. My students were animated and asked a huge number of intelligent questions more than demonstrating their interest….

Out of interest when did you last deliver a session and was the private school following the National Curriculum?

The following news item also adds a little more grist to the mill on this topic http://www.telegraph.co.uk/education/educationnews/8542551/Private-schools-preparing-to-dump-the-National-Curriculum.html

For reference the ‘worst’ group that I ever hosted was from a private school with a ‘military focus’.
