The wonders of ‘Prior Art’ – at the last company I worked for I spent at least two weeks, searching the company’s photographic archive to find dated / annotated photographs of a particular design of weighing equipment from the 1950s; these were required for use in a patent case similar to that described by Vega ECM in #17.

These photographs were eventually found and along with drawings (and even a site visit to see a working scale); they were eventually used to successfully defend a patent dispute with a European competitor!

Some Clayton Shuttleworth drawings and glass plate negatives were amongst the items saved by Newark Air Museum when Neville Franklin passed away and his bungalow was cleared. The most significant items were subsequently passed over to the Museum of Lincolnshire Life and I believe these may have been incorporated into the Lincolnshire County Archive.

Re Gokone’s earlier post, as I’ve posted before – “….. the photos that are gradually being taken down were from the 2012 event, it’s not really a space issue but more to do with reduced usage / viewing; plus a lot of fresh images coming along for the museum’s 40th Anniversary Gala and the Lightning event.” They will start to re-appear in a few weeks’ time!

Dave Wilson – it’s interesting to hear that you once used to glide from the airfield, you’re all missed – albeit they now have some radio controlled flyers using part of the airspace!

As for the lady in the Museum Shop, which one are you referring to? There are three who work there and a certainly two of them would have been in post when you were flying from Winthorpe.
