    There might be something in the NAM Archive but as it says in post #3 in the above link –

    “You might be able to source more details via this organisation http://www.thegrowler.org.uk/ and they are normally very helpful at putting appeals in their newsletter.”

    My latest copy arrived last week!

    Getting back onto topic – hopefully the Vulcan Restoration Trust will be having a display about XL426 at the NAM event in April 2012! 😉

    On a similar subject are you aware of the Aviation Heritage Lincolnshire ‘Shouting The Odds’ Cold War oral history project? 🙂

    Newark Air Museum has two type D2 Link Trainers (vintage circa 1942) and plotting tables on display in Hangars 1 and 2 at the museum – whilst both are serviceable they are not operated.

    Excellent assistance for the restoration of the second unit was provided by the Museum of Flight at East Fortune; this included circuit diagrams and relevant sections from the APs.

    Just a cautionary note, people should be aware of potential issues with Link Trainer instrumentation of ‘a certain age!’ 😉

    I understand that Roger Cole is liaising with the family over several unpublished poems – his talk also provided some detailed chronology of other Magee poems that linked through to the writing of High Flight; fascinating and moving material that I wasn’t quite expecting! 🙂

    He was also talking about trying to develop a more substantial tribute to John Magee in his (R Cole’s) local village – Wellingore I think! 😮

    It’s not very often that NAM can talk about Spitfires, Hurricanes and Messerschmitts – but this week’s Object of the Week gives me that fleeting opportunity; albeit very tenuously!! 😉

    I listened to the broadcast whilst travelling home from an excellent weekend.

    Hopefully BBC TV (Look North) will be featuring the commemorations – I’ll try and get a weblink when I get confirmation of the broadcast.

    I’ll also post any article weblinks as and when they appear.

    T-21 I have your order of service from today and I also kept one form the private service at Scopwick on Saturday morning.

    The talk yesterday afternoon was very well done – informative, thought provoking and moving!

    I forgot to mention that Hugh Magee did a live broadcast on BBC Lincolnshire this morning at just beofre 8.30am.

    Have you discussed the issue with Nielsen Book Data?

    Several years ago I found them helpful with a similar issue with a NAM publication.
