I can vouch for the kind hospitality of TwinOtter23, although the folding tables they use are like a Rubic’s cube when you try to flat pack them 😮

…Also, Petwood Hotel was not only used by 617. I know that 97 used it in 1942, presumably 619 and 627 used it as well.

619 Squadron was certainly there and I helped secure a small ‘victory’ a couple of years ago when the management finally agreed to display a plaque to “The Forgotten Squadron.” 🙂

Double result – the plaque I mentioned above was an individual Sqaudron crest in the bar!! 😀

The filming side is also interesting as I’ve been dealing with an ‘Upkeep filming’ enquiry this week for a programme in the latter stages of production!

Many were hand turned units, which were turned in a certain way and for a given duration to indicate a raid or the all clear!

I was told off last year by an ex-Observer Corps member for not getting it correct when recoding some sound clips! 😮
