Co-operative strategies ought to be explored as they can be beneficial even without significant distances between collections; as illustrated by the Aviation Heritage Lincolnshire project; providing groups recognise each other as partners rather than competitors! 🙂
Although this is perhaps more difficult in locations such as Canada with the larger distances involved!
Such schemes enable regions and collections to punch above their weight in attracting visitors to an area; for the benefit of the whole. Yes there will be some groups that are larger than others but that can be beneficial if they pass on their experience, expertise and ultimately visitors to other sites in the partnership! To coin one of my favourite sayings – “Work with people not against them!”
