As for cutbacks, if you’re one of those that does not have central funding it shouldn’t be too much of an issue providing you can keep attracting the paying visitors – hence the signature! ๐
Just a thought, the fact it’s been advertised in the Museum Association Journal could indicate that they are looking for it to go to a Registered or Accredited Museum. ๐

Albeit moving slightly away from the โthemeโ of the original post another thing that shouldnโt be overlooked is the funding opportunities that become available to Accredited / Registered Museums. This is something that is vital for independent (volunteer) managed museums of all sizes.
From personal experience, with good accession procedures already in place, as indicated by TTโs post Accreditation shouldnโt be too onerous a process. I have always been a strong advocate of Registration / Accreditation and I remain of that viewpoint. ๐
