Tribute to the V-Force

Details of a special model display at the V-Force event have been added to the News Page of the museum website.

Thanks for the positive comments – we seem to be moving in the right direction, which is a nice feeling! 🙂

I would comment on the points you raised as follows:

Start time

For the next Indoor event (autumn) we could look at moving the time back for admitting sellers to 8.30am and for buyers to 10am – what do people think about that?

Also would this event be better in October or early November?

For the Cockpit-Fest companion event in June we’ll stay at the published times, that way the Cockpiteers can get a good look at items before the main event starts.

Seller numbers

We did put a couple of people on a standby list, but that said we also had more than 10 ‘newbies’, who were first time sellers to Indoor events at Newark. I was particularly pleased about that because I would like to think that it added new items to the market and hopefully will encourage more participation in the future.

Whether we can fit in any additional tables remains to be seen, but this will form part of the de-brief we hold.

Sorry for the delay in responding but after yesterdays ‘tidy-up’ I went over to Woodhall Spa for the 619 Squadron Association Reunion. By a quirk of fate I ended up in the bar at the Petwood talking to someone about ‘instruments of a certain age’ until nearly midnight!! 😮

Thanks to everyone for their comments and it was good to meet up and chat with several forumites / Aerobooters and apologies to those that I didn’t get time to talk with.

From a NAM perspective I think it would be fair to say that we’re reasonably happy with the set-up and how things went, although we haven’t had our formal debrief yet! As with any event that you organise there are things that could be improved on – so any comments or suggestions you have will be fed back into the de-brief process.

Yesterday I gave out details for the June event that runs alongside Cockpit-Fest and as previously stated all of our Aeroboots will now be pre-booking only. So if anyone wants details for June please make contact.

Finally I would like to say that NAM secured several items for some of its active restoration programmes; both through purchase at the event and pre-arranged deliveries by attendees (thanks TT for delivering the Harvard canopy section!)
