    Twin Otter

I have spoken to the shop and the Curator who tells me that Roz Blackmore is she who must be obeyed and she will be in the shop on Monday, so I will phone her then to see what she can arrange. I’ll let you know when it reaches a happy conclusion.:)

:diablo: That’s him for the high jump then!!

I saw the cards on Tuesday – they have been taken off sale and are sat on the Shop Managers desk waiting for your call – sorry that she’s not working today!

    Welcome Dave,

If they are an Accredited Museum try http://www.mla.gov.uk/

Or a Registered Charity try http://www.charity-commission.gov.uk/

Or even a Limited Company try http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/

As for views on MoD Disposals you might try the search facility on this forum!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

It wasn’t my intention to imply that you were TT.

As I said before, my thoughts are with the 14 and their families; those of us who haven’t served in uniform have an ongoing debt of gratitude to those who across the generations have โ€“ thank you all!

Am I alone in thinking that it is somewhat ironic that we are discussing the saving of a Nimrod airframe on the same day when we were told quite categorically that we had it in our collective hands to save one with 14 crew and did not do so?

My understanding is that discussions have been ongoing since the summer and that the information was only posted on the museum website in response to comments being made on other fora.

For me there is added poignancy to how the timing has evolved – one of the 14 killed in the crash lived locally, in a village that I am familiar with and is only five miles from the museum.

If things work out for this project, IMHO then perhaps some form of memorial to the 14 might be appropriate; and please donโ€™t lets fall out about this!

Tonight, my thoughts are with the 14 and their families.

    I wasnโ€™t being evasive โ€“ I donโ€™t fully understand the technicalities involved. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

At one time I believe the Rover start was achieved mainly via on board systems but now I think they use a ground power unit of some form. NAMโ€™s Restoration Manager is an ex-Vulcan Crew Chief and he may have introduced a new system.

The Rover is run on XM594 from time to time – the last time I witnessed it was at Cockpit-Fest (also on one of the Night Photo Shoots) – you need to email through for precise details / procedures etc ๐Ÿ˜€

Sets of lights – being moved around the site; with them draining the national grid! :diablo:

Aircraft / items used last night: Dove, Meteor 7, Vulcan, MiG-23, Thunderbird rocket, Wessex, Sea Harrier, MiG-27, Buccaneer, – finishing back at the Vulcan.

Normal museum volunteer models with a different touch this time being the Crusader 80 living history group.
