😀 Priceless!

You know, if all the experts who are ‘actually involved in investigating‘ this accident had just come on this forum first they would’ve had it all wrapped up in a jiffy!!!
-Dazza
I thought it might be a comprehensive reply!;)
-Dazza
I appreciate your career was affected by this airline,
I can’t wait for the reply to this one!:D

Once again on the back of one (possibly) throw-away comment during an interview, Mikey the pikey gets just what he wants, free publicity/advertising. I dread to think how many times this has been repeated today in various news reports on just about every TV, Radio and Satellite channel, the tw@t must be laughing his head off…

SAS have sold Spanair for the princely sum of 1 euro
Only one? They should’ve put JKK on ebay….
-Dazza;)
Saw a Mad-Dog do it on the central apron at EMA three or four years back, it was I believe SX-BSW with ‘UK Jet’ titles and what a bloody shower they were, I think that summer we counted at least 27 other operators who covered their flights because the damn thing was always going tech! Made for good spotting though…

…Many of them are only noticeable in poor visibility because of the A380’s effect on the Instrument Landing System signals.
Even a 737 can effect the ILS signal, which is why when an aircraft on approach in bad visibility asks, for example a CatIII approach, ATC will ask if they require ‘full protection’ which requires departing aircraft to stop a certain distance from (IIRC) the threshold so as not to interfere with the signal, I can’t see why the A380 should be any different in this regard to a 747.

Am I right in thinking that EK are waiting for the delivery of their 5th monster untill they go double daily with it at LHR?
Adam
I pretty sure EK have already gone double-daily into LHR, albeit only until the end of January whereupon it reverts to a single daily flight until, as you mention, they recieve their fifth airframe.

Thankyou.

…They will be restored airframes so they will have plenty of life in them.
From what I understand the airframes (3?) will be drawn from existing USAF KC-135R stocks so they’ll hardly be spring chickens, I wonder if it would’ve made more sense to have sought a different airframe? 757, A320 etc. Although the 707/RC-135 is a mature technology/platform and therefore practically an of-the-shelf choice, I wonder if the long term benefits of a younger more modern airframe, in terms of both cost and maintenance, would outweigh the extra money needed to integrate the avionics on a newer airframe?
-Dazza
or…. where do these wires match up?…. ala A380 😉
Touche!
-Dazza:)
……stop press.
Sounds better than ‘……stop production’ though, a la Boeing 787….
-Dazza;)
…dry thrust noise, I couldnt say.
Having watched/listened to many dry-thrust Typhoon take-offs at RAF Coningsby, single-ship, pairs and on the odd occasion a three ship, I can safely say its bloody noisy in dry-thrust as well! 😉 Only ever seen a few (operational) take-offs which used re-heat, and invariably they were by twin-seaters and involved a very short roll and a pull into the vertical. Doesn’t add anything useful to a Rafale thread I know, but impressive none the less…
-Dazza
Where the Typhoon is concerned, as far as I know there is no plans currently for a mission specific use of the rear cockpit, the twin-seaters being used, primarily, for training new pilots on the type, as for Rafale and Gripen the situation is I believe the same, although I stand to be corrected.
