As far as I know funding was only made available to operate the modified EF.3s for about a year, after which they were to be de-modified back to F.3 standard, a ludicrous state of affairs if you ask me since the F.3 was apparently better suited to the role than most dedicated SEAD/DEAD aircraft!
Apparently the number ‘7’ is meant to be lucky, in aviation circles at least, don’t know why, but I remember it being mentioned on a programme some time back.
