As to Nazi designs, they are fantasy and really, really are not something to compare to modern military aviation. If it wasn’t physically in existence and had no test aircraft to back it up then it is still only a product of someone’s imagination.

Fuel for the type of combat radius USAF desires requires a big vehicle. Think B-58 or TU-22 size.

You should be able to work backwards from this premise to work out why F-35 is so terrible.

France had been negotiating to sell Rafales to Gaddafi when that business flared up. Could’ve been interesting if that’d gone through a little earlier. Unlikely that either Rafale wreckage or footage of Rafales strafing civilians would’ve been helpful for export prospects to India or Brazil. :p

Of course no doubt what will actually happen is that we will buy F-35 at ruinous expense and then they will want this too and complain when there is no money, lol.
