What are/will be the timings of the existing service?

Unfortunate that it happened again, but that just points to the flaw not being quite what BA expected. It doesnt reassure the pax, but since when has any article about aviation been written with reassurance in mind? Unfortunatley BA is the type of company that will issue a poorly worded press statement or even worse not issue one at all, that will feed the media for a few more days, then they will find someone else to pick on as the story wears thin.

That is unless the Daily Mail turns it into one of their “campaigns”!

Which is where we start down the slipperry slope of statistics I was trying to avoid. The question asked was “financial importance” in terms of wanting to attract business services. You cannot work that out just from a city’s GDP, in fact it is highly subjective depending on how “financial importance” is quantified.

There is a NEVER a simple answer to these things! 😉

But are they also a moneyspinner because people are traveliing from EDI to LBA? Probably equally so.

There are lies, damned lies, and then there are statistics. I’m sure that somewhere on the net are the stats that will prove Farnborough is the 2nd most important financial centre after London. Both Leeds and Edinburgh are important in their own right, and do similar things, you will not get a conclusive answer as to which is “more” important.
