A nice collection, is the DBA the former Deutsche BA and who owns it nowadays? Also… Why is the Westair ATP registered in Luxembourg? I though Westair was a Swedish company?

Yes DBA is Deutsche BA, I think its owned by a private German consortium.Westair has 2 divisions now, Westair Sweden and Westair Luxembourg, and the aircraft are on the apropriate register depending on their base. I’m not quite sure why they needed to create 2 different companies as both countries are in the EU though :S

Great shots and a number of interesting visitors, at least for a UK spotter who hasn’t set foot near a commercial airport for 3 months!

I’m not so sure its a foregone conclusion. Malev were in a similar position, with a fleet of 737 classics and 762s, and they opted for a fleet renewal programme of 737NGs.

If you can get that LHR-CDG-LBA flight for £50 then thats a great deal indeed. I would have recomended going via AMS instead due to the better viewing facilities, but AMS-LBA is £50 in itself with Jet2.

Charters are allowed from LHR, its just that LHR is much much more expensive for the charter operators than LGW, so they go to LGW. You will get the odd charter flight from LHR, once or twice a year, and of course biz jets go in all the time, and they are merely private charters.
