Very nice indeed! Lots like Viktor is keeping out of all the Ukrainian shenanigans for now and keeping up his schedule, luckily for you! 😎
Very nice, especially the Avanti!
Oooh new Netjets G550, very nice! 😎
The whole place looked very sorry for itself when I flew over a few weeks ago. At least the slightly more historic buildings at East Base are still around I guess…
Hi Mark, yes I did, but only on departure from 05L, and here it is:
Oooh great! 😀
I was on this one that day, landing on 05R at about 0700. 😎
Nice stuff! Don’t suppose you caught the AA 767 by any chance did you?
Any firm information…or educated speculation..on 380’s destinations from Heathrow?
New York?
Where else in North America and Europe?BTW: The main NA routes are in the summer tourist season…is there a similar tourist season from the UK to Australia in Winter (Oz’s summer) to keep the planes busy the year round?
New York has been specifically ruled out by WW today. The strategy there is frequency over volume, same as now.
Definite routes will be HKG and JNB.
Most likely will be CPT, BKK, SIN, SFO, LAX, GRU, LOS and probably India (DEL, BOM, BLR).
Remember first A380 delivery isn’t until 2012, so schedules won’t be drawn up for some years yet.
Maybe just my imagination but didnt we have to duck to enter the plane to prevent hitting our heads?
Yes, and then got stuck on the damn thing for about 5 hours because of congestion at JFK 😡
AA ERJs have a “static airbridge” at JFK. You decend in the terminal to the level of the aircraft cabin then walk along a portacabin style airbridge to the aircraft. They open a PVC hood over the aircraft if its wet and you can walk straight onto the aircraft over a ramp. The airbridge does not move – they just fold away the hood.
*shudder*
Bad memories of that awful flight! 😮
Can Props use airbridges? I think i remember seeing a ATP using one in BHX about 10 years ago although it could have been a Saab 2000.
I think the ATP is the only prop that was developed with a plug door, but I’ve never seen it used.
As for all the jets in the original post, yup, all of them can use airbridges assuming they have the correct door config.
In actual fact I think I have been on all of them using airbridges too… 😎
Are you kidding?? LOL, 80.5%, most LCCs can beat that!! For a business orientated airline (long haul or not), I’d want to see that much higher.
And with their load factor at 67%, and the gap between revenues and operating costs, I suspect they may have a long term problem!
80.5% when their primary destination is JFK? Pretty good to be honest if you ask me, most AA and BA flights from JFK have an OTD of around 30%.
MaxJet have some good financial backing, they’re expanding nicely into new markets from the US and growth on routes like LAX are really going to drive the company forward in the next few years. Just a shame they didn’t get a China route at the start of the week.
At the end of the day if they were posting huge profits at this stage then something would be wrong, not the other way around.
Great news all round for everyone I think!
Time to start hoarding those miles for a First Class trip to HKG on the A380 😎
You’d be hard pushed to beat £550 at that time of year for the West Coast.
Try looking for a cheapo flight to somewhere like NYC or Miami and picking up a domestic flight on a separate booking, that sometimes works nicely.
Staff have apparently been told the Toronto/Hamilton flights to MAN will still exist however.
All back to 320s this morning.
