Theres no point them charging bargain prices for the day trippers if they can charge hundreds of pounds for routes that businessmen regard as a neccessity. I believe they are doing really well at the moment, and that their yields are extrememly high on the majority of routes?

767s seem to be going up a lot more often as when the 757 goes tech the rostered crew can still fly the 767 due to the common type rating. You do get a lot of Long Haul configured 767s up your end, and MAN gets a few 777s and 747s a year, but can’t think of anything recently to EDI or GLA.

WizzAir have challenged EZY out of LTN on a number of routes and are doing very well. Currently on 6 A320s with more on the way, and whenever I have seen them at LTN the check in queues seem as long as EZY’s ie out the door!

Although without a good business there can’t be a good airline (well not for very long anyway)

T5, Ghana did operate from Heathrow, but they are pretty much 100% bust now. The flights that are operating into LGW are being operated by some holiday company, which is trying to sort out the mess left behind by Ghana Airways.

Its some kind of an inventory system for businesses, however BA decided they wanted it too, despite 2 or 3 airlines having bought it previously and ditching it wthin weeks due to its dismal failure. Nevertheless they spent several millions investing in it, and now as OneLeft says its completely screwing up all the inventories to the point of having several unserviceable aircraft each day, and this is across all fleets.

I think the Thai Orient was only in once or twice, I have read elsewhere that FlyJet are doing it on a more regular basis with the 757s?

AOM DC10s and then the Novair 330s are all I’ve ever seen at Gatwick. Wannabe Pilot flew with them several years ago on the AOM DC10 I think?

Thanks OneLeft. A friend of mine and I often go through load factors for various days, and in general it would seem operations don’t quite know what they are on about in terms of the aircraft scheduled. Admitadley there are other factors to take into consideration, and also it is the summer and therefore space on flights will be at a premium for every airline (generally!)

Don’t get me started on EWS 😛

    CU401 is a Cubana, currently operated by a Novair A330 (SE-RBF)

GH713 is Ghana Airways, however due to their financial difficulties a few flights have been put on by other airlines to bring the passengers home. I believe these flights are being operated by a FlyJet 757.
