Stop BA Stop GO was always rather confusing for me!
The best solution to the problem 😉
BY767 I am flying into Dinard in the summer, from Guernsey on the Trislander! Tres interesent 😉
LTN-DUB is still a very safe bet, I don’t think there is anything at STN that REGULARLY uses the 732 in particular?
So SWISS will have 10 london flights and a codeshare GVA-LHR. Wonderful!
300 pilots will be retrained on the 800, and yes all the NG 737s have a common type rating.
It would not surprise me to see FR get some flightly smaller planes (700s or 600s) converted from some 800 orders/options as they are going to need something with lesser capacity to replace the 200s and 300s.
Its a bit of a joke operating a fleet of hundreds of -800s and then having 4 or 5 300s ticking along on the side though, so hardly unexpected
Remarks: Subbing for Flyglobespan 😉
Is the BSL-LHR change a done deal with BA, or was it just a propsal before it all went **** up?
2 days running for being moved on for Andy, what an excellent run of luck 😀
Because “Mark” had already been taken 😀
I was lucky enough to see 2 different LOT 170s in FRA last month 😀
Have checked the Teletext and their flight arrived about 1.5 hours late. However the 2 BA flights to GLA around it were both cancelled, so a good choice of airline there!
Basically the system as BY767 says is the one that processes the flight strips. It is an archaic system that has had new leases of life injected into it over the years. The flight strips are used throughout the UK and are then passed onto the adjacent ATC centres. Flights that were already in the air obviously had their flight strips already processed by the machine, and so there was no problem, however all the planes sitting on the ground did not have any strips, and so no ATC units could tell what was going on. Therefore it would have been unsafe for the plane to take off.
The problem was fixed in about 40 minutes, by which stage the strips were being printed, and flights could then get underway, but with an obvious knock on effect.
Some nice photos there Andrew, at least a few of them were full frame shots (ish) 😀
SWISS still reckon OneWorld is their preferred partner? Hmm, then why are they not going ahead with the join?
As Bhoy quite rightly said they have screwed themselves over big time with regards to London, either the intialy decision was taken too hastily (Unlikely as they had been pondering the join for years) or this decision was taken too hastily which I think it was considering the prety rapid U-Turn.
I am going to enter conspiricy theory mode and hypothesise that the Swiss government thought the move would threaten Swiss neutrality…
