Ah OK, thought you said you flew BA 😉
Let me guess, you flew MAN-JFK on G-BNWH?
Yep sorry Ren, I only ever use this forum, and often forget we have others I always, as a matter of instinct click on “Commercial Aviation”!
Whilst there are the odd helpful people on there the vast majority of stuff on there is repetitive rubbish. You are unlikely to find anything on there that you need contribute to (As you can read them for free) that you can’t find on here, or dare I say it on pprune.
It is the national day of the Patron Saint of England St George.
He is famous for slaying an evil dragon, but whether it happened on the 23rd April or not I am not too sure!
Moondance, have I ever told you, you are one lucky *******?
The advantage of a 146/RJ100, it can drop like a stone!
Remember Kenya is on a much increased security alert at the moment due to the recent-ish bombings, and if its anything like Lagos, well you only need to watch Lagos Airport on TV!
Superb pics there. I have found out the delivery date of your “6 week old” ERJ….it was 20th July 2002 😮
V1 is the speed at which you are committed to the taxkeoff
VR is when you pull back on the stick
V2 is the speed at which you get airborne (In theory)
Presumably something went wrong with a system somewhere, but as ever we will have to wait until a report has been issued, as there are so many different things that could have gone wrong.
Lets just say that BA operations have no idea what the people on a.net are talking about!
MCO doesn’t operate even with a First cabin, and so would be impractical for the 744, and none of the other routes demand the load factor for it, especially with BGI being operated from LHR now too. BA now have an LHR based IAH service, so Lagos is no longer a problem.
I can’t imagine this ever happening to be honest, and any new Long Haul services won’t be able to be set up until new planes are bought, something which won’t happen for a while due to money problems.
If anyone is interested the 2nd LGW runway is being used as of yesterday evening up until the evening of the 23rd/24th due to work on the main runway during the night.
All showing now Comet, nice picss! The ERJ145 with the Tartn tail is G-EMBK that flew me from EDI to BHX last November 🙂
G-SJCH is the reg, and I remember that the first bit stands for Sir John, but can’t remember the rest of his name! Flood, do you know it?
Nice report, I love the ERJ, however I think 6 months is nearer the mark than 6 weeks. I can’t remember when the last ERJ delivery was but it was definitly last year.
BHX has 2 runways 15/33 and 06/24. 06/24 is only used for Cessnas and other GA aircraft, so you would have gone off 33 or 15 🙂
