BAs 777s and 747s all have PTVs. The 767s and 757ERs have the big overhead screens in economy. The 767s in long haul configuration also have the same First and Club arrangement as the 777s and 747s, but still the overhead TVs in economy sadly. I don’t think there is any plan to change this layout, however 2 new 767s are being configured for long haul this month, and we will have to see if they will be given economy PTVsor not…

not a Bae but an avro 85
What isn’t a BAe?
You will be flying on a BAe and not an Avro, 2 different planes 😉
The 146 is a funny plane, looks smaller than it actualy is, seating is in a 3+3 config. The thing you need to watch out for is when the flaps are moving between the 0 and 18 degrees positions, they make one helluva noise and usualy frighten everyone first time! 😀
LGKR, I believe he flew BLK-STN-BLK, despite his flight report ACTUALY saying BLK-STN BLK-STN !
Nice report EGNM, its a flight I’ve wanted to do before, but as it takes me 3 hours to get to STN sometimes the antisocial flight times make it a nono 🙁
I think the plan in the medium term is to continue operating both types, and to have all their pilots dual rated. Some of their 737s are weeks old, so will not be retired for many years.
Probably depends on your definition of airliner. Whilst some commercial airliners CAN reach Fl450 I think FL400 is pretty much the max any really go to in normal conditions.
However many bizjets can go to some crazy altitudes, maybe into the 500s?
No new BA routes, just a few extra flights, a few minor cancellations and those terminal changes!

Back on to the subject how come BA opperate more A319 than a320 out of LHR these days, i thought all of the A319 were at Birmingham???!!!!
Nope, all Airbus’s are at LHR, BHX has RJ100 and EMB145, likewise has done for about a year now.
BAs 737 are ONLY at LGW now. The ones at MAN were moved out about a year ago.
BA are getting new Airbuses into LHR, so far these have pushed the 737s into LGW, and when the 321s are delivered later this year some of the LHR A319s are going to LGW to replace some of the older 737s on lease (Probably the 300s and 500s)
When BA start making a bit more money the next major fleet renewal will be bulk deliveries of A319s/A320s/A321s to replace the whole LGW 737 fleet.
At the moment the plan is to keep the 767s until a sutiable successor can be found, and as such (Due to commonality) BA have no plans to retire the last 13 remaining 757s as far as I know.
ATH is no longer served from LGW, just LHR with 2 767s and 1 757 a day.
🙂
Yeah I would agree with you there.
Incidentally BA no longer fly the 737 out of LHR, the last flight was on Saturday 🙁
But as I just said, AV8 have NOT gone bust! Its just a change in the company organisation, all flights are still going to run as before

Oh well another have a go hero airline
What?
The flights will continue to be operated by Icelandair, its just the British side of things that appears to have gone down. Another complicated one that hasn’t really gone bust just like EAL.
Airbus FMC is not easier or harder than a Boeing one, it just depends on what you are used to. I would say that the Airbus one is easier to pick up from scratch though.
