That is one difficult question!

As Ren says, as a Boeing chap you would be more confident in a 747, would the conversion time be smaller too? However the 747 as a PAX aircraft is coming to the end of its useful life, especially with Virgin who are now trying to get rid of their fleet due to an aircraft shortage (albeit very slowly as they only recently acquired their latest one). The A340 is definitly going to be their aircraft of choice.
Again, as Ren says the commonality of the Airbus is a great bonus, after being trained on the 340 it would be a matter of weeks before you could fly the entire fleet of currently produced Airbuses! A much more stable position to be in.

In terms of short term emjoyment and maybe ease and status (Nyah I fly a jumbo jet etc) a 747 would be best, but in terms of long term planning and stability the 340 would be best. In this day and age, in your shoes, I would stick with the A340 choice!

Nothing too uncommon, in fact the fact it went to Cardiff means it was probably an technical problem (Increasingly common on the 777s these days) as BA have a big maintenance base there.

Thats strange, I would have thought they would have “arranged” their prices to be coincidentally similar as they are both in OneWorld

The only official viewing facilities at LHR are the visitor centre on the Bath Road. Quite frankly its crap. The “holiday deck” as you call it was closed a year ago this month.

That NCL site is appalling. A nightmare to navigate, takes an age to load even on broadband, and the schedule information is not just inaccurate it is plain wrong!
