Only decent fare I can get from London is from STN with EZY, but that gets me back far too late for my connection down to Plymouth with Air Southwest sadly 🙁

Becasuse they recon its to do with UN Resolution 223, thus changing it to 293 will remove the political connection.

These are flights that operate out of one airport, to another airport, back to another airport, and back to the start airport via another (Usualy the first destination) airport.

Take for example BAs LCY operation:

    BHX-CDG-LCY-CDG-BHX

is what the aircraft will operate as BA do not have a LCY base, if you think about it this looks sort of like a W in certain situations.

I think both Qatar Airways and the airport are state owned, however I doubt highly whether the old airport will continue running after the new ones opens.

Flew the same flight back in December and had a similar experience to you, although my original flight got cancelled, and I was lucky enough to get a Dash 8 Q400 on the way back 😀 😀

OR (one of mine and Wannabe pilots big disagreements here 😉 ) you could got to http://www.vatsim.net join there and have real people controlling you through the virtual airspace rather than the dodgy microsoft stuff!

    Improves the realism by 10000%!

Short answers: No and never happened.

BMI are actively fighting for the removal of many of the restrictions that exist at Heathrow. I think they are trying to get some moved this year.
Ther merger never really got above ground level I think, although it is obviously still a possibility.
