The police are being very good about the whole situation due to the lack of decent spotting facilities (The visitors centre is fairly limited).
I was speaking to a police officer the other day who was a die hard spotter, and he said that the police were being told just to monitor the situation and check for “suspicious characters in suspicious places” so if you are at Hatton Cross, or Myrtle Avenue then they are not going to bother. They are praying for the opening of the spectator gallery even harder than we are!

It seems to be all sorted now at T1. My Dad flew out to Rome on Monday, and back again yesterday with no problems on either flight.

Well unless you can make the 9th at 5 in the morning I’m afraid I can’t make it. Thats when I’m off to Lisbon, d’oh!

All of this mornings BA flights either didn’t depart or departed empty, including those from T4 on long haul services.
I’m still not sure whether the Fairford jumbo arrived or not.

The plane will operate from T4 anyway, but in theory you are supposed to check in at T1. It’s such a big PR thing them taking the jumbo to Fairford that they will probably just check you in at T4 (Assuming it’s still on of course)

The ATP’s are being returned to the lessor as originaly planned now.
This is either due to a change of heart in BACX, or Loganair refusing. This could be the first step for Loganair to gain their independance from BA.

OK thanks. It’s nice to have a pic like that one (In the link) which show’s the vast numbers of 747’s, and the first one I have ever seen on that ramp with all the a/c in Union Flag!

They now have 3 737 400’s at LHR, with all the rest at LGW. I think the plan is that with every A320 received one 737 moves to LGW?

Looks very good, not sure if anything will come out of it for a while though.
BA are striving to create an all Airbus fleet in shorthaul, with their 757/767 fleet being slowly retired, and the 737 fleet likewise. New A320’s (And next year A321’s and some more A319’s) are creeping in. I think they have more Airbuses than Boeings now (In short haul config anyway)
