    Lots of good causes were involved in the rescue, might be nice if people could list them here so people can maybe make donations?

    I’ve just given a tenner to the British Divers Marine Life Rescue:

    You are rather late I’m afraid, most companies block book the big hotels, and coupling that with the fact there aren’t many of them in the first place you have a problem. There is a reason the Heliport does so well during the week, and thats because its so hard finding accomodation anywhere near.

    Its not really the right area for B&Bs or smaller touristy places. The two I can suggest are Potters International: http://www.pottersinthotel.com/

    Also the Lismoyne is very nice, but expensive, and tends to get overlooked: http://www.lismoynehotel.co.uk/

    Andto answer the question why so mant people try to reach Britain: because you have no ID card. Anyone who enters the country can stay, as you nobody can prove your origins are not British anyway. It is that simple…

    I believe a birth certificate or lack of one can prove your origins, or lack of them?
