SOU flights will not start now. Theres no way A1 are going to compete on a route, especially with a carrier that is well known at both ends of the market, and that uses far bigger aircraft. IOM-SOU would not be nice in a PA31.
PSP will be fine, switch it to Flight Mode if it has one. Only rule is don’t use it during take off and landing ie when the seat belt signs are on.
Continental service is meant to be pretty standard, nothing too exceptional, and you even have to pay for alcoholic drinks I believe these days.
Yup it is possible on the 747, but you can only really fit one or two in, and its a tight squeeze.. You can quite often see a nice Ferrari or Lamborghini on a pallet sitting outside the cargo areas at Heathrow ready for a flight, usually to the US, the Middle East, or the Far East.
Likewise Popham, Blackbushe, Aldergrove, or anywhere in the Yorkshire region. I’m around all those places at least once every 6 weeks!
Neither are in a pure cargo form at the moment, although inevitably it will happen at some stage. The closest we are to it is their conversion to Tankers for various Air Forces. The A330 for the RAF, and I think now the A342 for the French, both of which should see service sometime this decade.
Great shots everyone. After a relatively long break from me I’m back into the flying lark, and doing SIN-LHR today. I’ve just passed Banda Acheh, which was one of the worst hit areas of the Tsunami region in 2004:

Very nice Matt. The prop is a Beech King Air.
Bond do a lot of work for the Coastguard, but I’m not entirely sure how the agreement works, you’d probably have to ask around the mil forum for that.
London Heliport doesnt have any scheduled operations, it is used almost entirely for people entering London from their homes in the country, or more usually for passengers transferring into London from biz jets after having arrived into airports such as Farnborough or Stansted.
I haven’t read a heli trip report for a while. There are two well know scheduled routes I know of in Europe. The first is one I have personally flown on, linking Penzance with the Scily Isles operated by British International. Also there is the Malta-Gozo airlink operated by Spanish operator Helisul, who I think also actually have their own scheduled operation out of Malaga as well.
tiny bmi fares? I doubt very much we’d ever see any of them on a FRA route. In actual fact are they available on any of the bmi Regional services from LBA?
I wish more people would make an offer like that, I’d be up in a flash. Sadly there are far more people who just take the numbers and have no real interest in flying which means that a) “Aviation Enthusiasts” get a bad reputation as a whole, and b) People like yourself are understandably loathe to being bitten twice after experiencing one awkward silence 🙁
Agreed, operationally it isn’t going to happen, although that doesnt mean the service wouldn’t work if only someone outside the Star Alliance could get in. Unfortunatley there doesn’t seem to be anyone who would fit that bill.
Both Tuesday and Friday are OK for me, I’ve not got anything better to do this week 😀
Lots of people are moving out of the Cologne market at the moment, as Dusseldorf is rapidly becoming the bigger airport of the two. Personally I believe LBA could quite easily sustain a bmi ERJ or a Lufthansa CRJ to Frankfurt, as well as Jet2 733 to Duesseldorf, and certainly Berlin.
What would be quite nice in the short to medium term would be for Air Berlin to link Leeds into their city shuttle programme, with twice daily flights to Stansted offering connections to all their German services. At the moment I think they are just trying to prove this service with the Manchester link, but they have publiclly stated they are looking to greatly expand that to increase pax numbers on the STN German services. Aside from the fact a STN service would be very nice, it would once and for all remove “the German question” from LBA.
OK excellent well let me know nearer the time. Weather forecast doesnt look too bad for Tuesday either in actual fact 😎
