There are 6 Fokker 50s which are basically used only on domestic routes as back up aircraft to the Q400s.

Indeed, send off a letter explaining your dissatisfaction. Airlines get complaints about far less trivial matters all the time.

I always find a letter works better than an email, emails can be very easily deleted, letters have a habit of sticking around 😉

    Great pics WD!

These were taken the next day as we left. The second picture of the -145 was the aircraft we took out (on the hard stand if it doesn’t load in the same order). The aircraft was online for only 14 days after it’s delivery from Brazil and we were flying it’s 20 revenue flight. Nothing flies nicer than a brand new airplane. 🙂

Spotter hat on here I’m afraid, but the 2nd plane in that sequence isn’t an XR, and according to my info is one of the older 145s in the fleet? (cn 248)

One that I know several people on this forum use is the Maycom AR108 which you can pick up for about £60 now. Mine has served me very well for the last 2 or 3 years and continues to do everything I need from it still today.

Hmm you’d have thought so, I got rang today and told it was a refund or nothing, no reroutes accepted. Hardly worth the phone call really.

Whats REALLY irritated me is that BA have put up the price of a single from MAN to BHD by £20 in light of this announcement 😡

They removed the “Sun” logo off the designs on their website a few days ago. I think it was that logo that was most associated with the crash as the tail carrying the logo was shown sitting in a field in most of the press reports surrounding the crash.

Agreed, I’ve yet to speak to anyone (aside from the people who are losing their jobs) who thinks this is a bad move. Other employees love it, Shareholders love it, and in the future the customers are going to love it as it will mean more efficiency which equates to a better service for them.

Hmmm BA have just cancelled my MAN-LDY Saab flight 😡

They are gonna ring me later apparently to sort out what they are going to do with me. I’m gonna try and get them to put me on MAN-GLA-LDY instead 😎

The as yet still largely offline, and carrying a weeks delay based on the advertised reopening date website says IOM-EDI is to start on the 14th.

I see thanks for that FS, really interesting. Any ideas when the new 744 is finally going to come online, hasnt that been being fitted out for the last 2 years or so?

Wow very interesting indeed! Do you just get to work on the RJ85 fleet, or do they let you loose on some of the “bigger” stuff?

A 727 report would go down a storm here you know, and dont even mention that 747SP!

Its fairly random how they are being deployed atm, at Leeds is seems to be 738 in the morning and 732 in the evening, but there is no hard and fast rule whilst the retirements continue.

What dates are you searching? I’ve just run a test through for a booking in February and got £555 for 2, which seems about right?

If you did go for the option of booking 2 separate tickets BA would check you in for the entire journey at Manchester anyway, so that isnt really an actual concern.

Eastern are definitly being encroached upon in their traditional market areas by FlyBe. Their latest traffic stats show most of their routes down on previous years. There are less and less routes that cannot be operated efficiently by a full Q400 at low fares in comparison to en emptyish Jetstream at very high fares.

Whilst Eastern have a good thing at the moment, the more FlyBe expand the worse it becomes for them.
