Very professional response indeed, I think it clarifies most of the issues.
One final “BA 777 at night” shot, no more I promise! This time on the downwind leg over the city of Mumbai:

Neg, 21st no good for me either, thats one of the few days next term I do actually have to be in uni.
Yup I’m up for DUB, cant get enough of there, currently toying with the idea of LBA-DUB-MAN with FR and EI on the 13th? 2 FR 738s in one day is always a bit much on the legs!
Has G-BYDA been destroyed totally there now then? 🙁
Yes every flightplan has to have at least one “alternate” airport included in it which is used in the event the scheduled airport is unable to be used.
Yeah it will be flow restrictions based on the weather problems most likely.
Slightly worrying about the lack of runway expansion for now as lots of people have been calling for it asap.
Nice to see you got the spelling of master right on here, although I do detect the hand of a certain moderator 😉
Looks like LBA might have had just the one casualty today so far, the Eastern from the IOM has “coaches” down on the LBIA arrivals board so assume its gone elsewhere.
Sounds like one of the City Airline ERJs?
A few more 777 shots from my departure out of Kuwait a few minutes ago:

And a late addition over the Turkish Capital Ankara:

And another one, just landed LHR, parked on stand 406 next to a company aircraft off to Amerstdam:

WX pretty poor at the LBA this morning, a few cancellations first thing, but the RVR on 14 has picked up and everything seems to be getting in OK.
Nice pics, VP-CGL is a particularly good catch as its a pretty new reg. I’m sure that excites you tremendously!
In answer to the question the 748 does still fly I believe for Emerald (James, 748 as in HS748, not mistyped 747 😉 )
