http://www.airlinerlist.com download the 737 Classic info and take a look. The most detail you will find in one place anywhere.
To be honest the defintion of the word “bankrupt” is very different nowadays to what many people might think. I THINK I saw it on here in some press release that JAT had been taken into administration or words to that effect. Again that means very little, as they are of course state owned and it would take something very serious to go wrong for them to have to cease operations.
Recently they have been using a vast range of different aircraft on their routes, for much of last year and the start of this year it was very rare to see one of their aircraft in full colours. Finding info on reposessions is also quite difficult, as its not something that is publicised unless it goes through the courts, but again I believe I saw it reported as an explanation for the continuous use of Islandsflug aircraft on their LHR routes at the start of the year.
Agreed Tom
(And clear out your private messages too mate!)
JAT have been in bankruptcy for a couple of months now and have had a number of their 737s reposessed.
Checking the LHR movements site this flight has been operating for at least the last week, however the service is operated by the more usual 737, and not the ATR as the schedules show. YU-ANK operated it last Saturday.
2 things still strike me as odd about it:
JAT are in bankruptcy and are handing back aircraft all over the place so a new route is unlikely, although it may explain the prescence of the ATR I suppose.
Secondly no start time is shown on that image T5 added, and there is no regular JAT scheduled service, or at least there never has been any Saturday I have visted in the last few months.
The Embraer 170 is also late on into its certification trials, I would expect an announcement on that front fairly shortly as they’ve been trialling it in various locations for quite a long time now.
Aren’t jets (bar the 146) banned from LCY because of noise abatement rules? I maybe wrong
Great pictures by the way 🙂
Either another bad choice of words or another failure to read the thread. Note all the biz jets!!!
Not a case of a short runway, or even a case of the incredibly steep glideslope, its a lack of suitable parking stands for aircraft of that size. The airport are actively looking at ways of at least certifying the 318 and possibly the 319, as their STOL and steep approach performance is already tried and tested.
I think this is probably a connecting service in Belgrade.
Nearly half the shots were of jet aircraft
Nice shots, interesting to see that Falcon 10 there, I wasnt aware that the type was LCY certified but a quick check on the LCY site confirms that it is.
My one and only Fokker 100 flight was on BXWE, glad to see shes going to a new home.
The Jetstreams are used quite extensively on charter routes, Hamburg is rather a long way for one though!
Great shots Elgan, shame about the wx. As I mentioned on msn the “100” on the EZY is to signifiy the 100th aircraft delivered to Easyjet.
Yeah you’d find it hard to get it onto airliners, but if you run it through Neat Image then that should probably get onto Jetphotos.
Try asking Dan (wannabe pilot) as hes good at sorting out uploads.
