Here they are, taken from another De Havilland aircraft…..when I was lucky enough to win a flight in the collection’s Tiger Moth some years ago. Well, when you’ve been going to OW for 40 years this month, your chances of winning must go up a bit!

A little disappointed to see that the Hurricane has sprouted a prominent modern aerial under the starboard wing. But delighted to see it flying again.

So do I. I lived in Kalafrana in 1966-7 and used to swim off the rocks of the old seaplane base. The only ship seen at Kalafrana by then was the RFA Matchlock..pictured, an armaments vessel. The ASR crews carried out some heroic deeds during the Battle of Malta and preserving one of the RAF launches would be a fitting tribute.
