As I posted on another site, May I commend Duxford on their reversal of decision, whoever made it, and for what ever reason.
It would seem that they are experiencing financial difficulties, and if handled correctly, would almost certainly see a sympathetic and unsderstanding reaction from both FoD and the aviation minded general public.
I hope a sensible and fair way ahead can be found to see them through this period.
It would seem from the posts after Anna’s (thanks for sharing your response from Mr Ashton), that others might agree. I’m sure the majority would want Duxford to carry on as best they can, even if that needs a little more support.
I wonder if this might see a return by some from the fields at airshows? (Runs, ducks, and takes cover 😉 )

A great post, thanks for sharing, and I too love the Tower-Lanc-Hanger shot!
Kev.
Oh yes, a wonderful set, possibly exceeding your very usual high standards!
They are all good, but I think special mention must go out to 3 of them:
Look at the expressions caught in that Napier shot, an absolute classic, the faces really tell it all.
As for the Blériot, bloody hell, 1/25 of a second!? 😮 You did well there, really well.
And what a finalé shot, Hugh would be well pleased with that I imagine, a classic pose and capture!! Would you mind if I sent it on to him?
Cheers,
Kev.
Have to agree, a nice set of shots there Dean, and what a nice way to while away an afternoon too!
Kev.
Stunning photography mate, PIN SHARP………….can i ask what camera/lens you were using!!
Thanks.
They were taken with a second hand Canon 20D and a second hand Sigma 50-500, both of which I’m really pleased with.
Wow, the P-51 and Vampire leap out of the page, as does the JP to a lesser degree, a great set!
Thanks for sharing,
Kev.
I notice your Meteor ground shot is missing in this thread!
Now that is observant, I’m impressed LOL.
Kev.

Only just seen these Anna, another great set to have come away with, a great pictorial record of the event………….. wish I’d gone now ! 🙁
Cheers,
Kev.
Yep, have to agree, a stunning set!
Kev.
Wonderful set, you’ve caught the light very well on a couple, remarkable given the llimited amount of it! LOL.
Cheers,
Kev.
Nice shots Gary, I was caught by the B-17 against the pinkish sky, very nice!
Kev.
A very nice set of pics, of what appears to have been an excellent show, it’s now on my list of ‘to do’s’
Cheers,
Kev.
A very nice set, especially given the conditions, well done indeed.
Kev.
but have you deliberately left out the Typhoon as non-historic?
No, not at all, I just wasn’t happy with any of the shots, I struggled with the grey aircraft in grey skies 🙁
Thanks for all the comments though, much appreciated.
