According to the Internet Movie Plane Database, it’s a McDonnell Douglas DC-9-32.

My mistake ,they both have rear stairs IIRC

    edit:- the very scene

If i recall correctly wasn’t the transfer in Cliffhanger between a 727 and a Jetstar ?[one of the best looking Bizjets IMHO]

I quite like the USMC Harriers (the real ones) in ‘True Lies’.

The bit in ‘Always’ when the Catalina dumps the red fire-fighting **** all over John Goodman…

…in fact, I like quite a lot of ‘Always’.

Sorry to be picky but i’m going to be anyway …it was the A-26 that dumped the retardant on Al[John Goodman] the Catalina did the pass previous that landed past the fire.

You can’t bring them back, but it would be nice if some of the MDD range could be preserved.
Loved the DC-10. Remember being aloud to explore Bcal’s first in the hanger at LGW.[way before hyped security around airports]

Whilst i am not defending JC’s assault on his producer which he quite rightly was punished for,but i would like to know exactly what it was that provoked JC into the verbal and physical assault. It does take two to tango as the saying goes.
James May’s comments throughout seem to convey a sense of molehill into a mountain scenario.

Always noticed the C-123 Provider with an ejector seat. Never noticed it was made to look like a four engined jet before! [or is that just my copy ?] Other than that a film of its time still enjoyable . Yippee kyay ……….

Would be nice if a few warbirds could be preserved in the colours they wore in civilian life. If only to recognize the part these post war activities paid in preserving the air frames to this day.Not every Mustang,B-17,B-25 etc has to represent military service that many actually never saw.

The post title made my heart skip a beat thinking that Jules Bianchi had died. Very sad to hear that Andrea de Cesaris had passed .
Condolences to De Cesaris family and get well soon to Jules.
Perhaps the thread title should say former or ex Formula 1 driver to make things clear.
