George Clooney and Sandra Bullock play astronauts marooned in space after an accident destroys their space shuttle. Looks good in 3D, but the film is a bit predictable.

“Run silent, Run Deep”, about the obsession of a U.S. Sub Captain, hunting down a Jap destroyer and submarine, bit old hat, but just about watchable.

Battle Hymn

Dean Hess’s autobiography, about how he organised the rescue of dozens of South Korean orphans during the Korean War. Lots of nice Mustang footage, and a great dogfight against Korean “Yaks” (in reality T-28 Trojans, I think). Decent war film, if a little different.

Battle Of Britain, never get tired of watching it.

The Wee man on Sky movies isn’t bad, true story of a Scottish criminal from Glasgow.

Blue Jasmine – the latest Woody Allen. Excellent.

World War Wee

It’s pish…. Pointless storyline, aircraft changed from Antonov’s to Herc’s to Antonov’s in flight. Call me old fashioned but why didn’t he just call them up on the phone? He was using a Satellite one, so one assumes someone in Israel owned one.
I must admit I thought it rather amusing that he got pissed when someone stole his campervan, after all he stole it first.

The all-time horror classic – still a great movie – followed by a so-so sequel with LOTS of homo-erotic undertones. Bring on the vastly superior part 3!

Channing Tatum and Jamie Bell venture beyond Hadrian’s Wall (probably towards the savage regions of Glasgow) in order to retrieve a lost Roman standard. Pretty decent.

“Full metal Jacket” sure as hell won’t be watching it a second time round.

Watched “The Adjustment Bureau”, not a bad film, a little different from the norm.
Recording the last in the Larsson millennium trilogy tonight… “The girl who kicked a hornets nest”. I’ve seen it before but
it’s a brilliant film.

Battle of the Bulge, Good film, the Yanks won, but don’t they always?. 😀

Back in the lovely little cinema in Uckfield last night where we saw RUSH – the Niki Lauda/James Hunt film – it was a really good film and I was amused to find that I recognised the internal roof structure of the Hangar where James and Niki were chatting in front of the bizjets….
It is a T2 hangar with extra internal bracing and is the eastern T2 at Dunsfold where I worked for a while on the night shift on Sea Harrier/T4 new builds

Good to hear – Woody back to his best apparently! Going next week. Saw About Schmidt – Jack Nicholson. Very good indeed with an excellent understated performance from Jack around whom the film revolves.
