Many thanks for your opinions guy’s looks like i’m going!
My first Legends thought it was great highlights had to be the two B-17’s, but actually the thing i enjoyed the most was the Invader.
My god what a beautiful sound that thing makes. The last one i saw fly was the one at Biggin N3710G.[not the fatal year ] .
Toured the museum ,loved the AAM being able to walk under and around so many wonderfull aircraft was a delight. Mind you i was so knackered doing that and walking the length of the display line i had to sit down for the rest of the day . [being partially disabled and unable to walk far dosen’t help, but was worth the pain !!] I watched the flying from where my bike was parked next to the AAM.
All in all a very good day would like to go again next year. Many thanks to all involved in organising and running the show.
Glad to see the Helicopter Pilot has” gripping hands”, how else would he hold his chopper ? LOL:D;):diablo:
Isn’t amazing what happens in your backyard [by a couple of miles ]that you have never heard of before ?
Obviously living in the South-East there were a lot of WW2 crash sites but to hear of one almost on your doorstep is fascinating.
Fair points i guess it was a daft question !
May seem like a daft question but why 1/3 scale ?. If you are going to go to all that trouble to build a replica why not build it full size?.
What time do the gates open?
8.00am i beleive
Great to see she got here safely.
I saw the belle whilst she was being restored in Kissimmee in 2004 be good to see the finished article at Legends ……can’t wait
A scan of a poor photo of the belle Kissimmee March 2004
In my opinion and it is only an opinion, to be classed as a restoration over 50% of the airframe would need to be used. Once you start using more new metal than old it can only be classed as a re-creation. I think when someone pulls a few dozen fragments out of the ground and then say they have restored the aircraft to flight i think that is pushing it a bit.
Again only an opinion. But no matter what is started with the final results wether a re-creation or a restoration should be praised for the hard work, talent and dedication it took to acheive
I shall be arriving by Motorbike any good places to park ? or do you get sent to a designated area?.
Also is there a good time to tour the Museum, am or pm ?

A man wakes up one morning to find a gorilla on
his roof.
So he looks in the yellow pages and sure
enough, there’s an ad for “Gorilla Removers.”
He calls the number, and the gorilla remover says
he’ll be over in 30 minutes.
The gorilla remover arrives, and gets out of his
van. He’s got a ladder, a baseball bat, a shotgun
and a mean old pit bull.
“What are you going to do”, the homeowner asks?
“I’m going to put this ladder up against the
roof, then I’m going to go up there and knock
the gorilla off the roof with this baseball bat.
When the gorilla falls off, the pit bull is
trained to grab his testicles and not let go.
The gorilla will then be subdued
enough for me to put him in the cage in the back
of the van.” He hands the shotgun to the homeowner.
“What’s the shotgun for?” asks the homeowner.
“If the gorilla knocks me off the roof, shoot
the dog!”
