Is it a FSM Hurricane coming out of Bentley Priory as a wild guess?
it was very realistic for a fsm,!!
I was fortunate enough to live at the back of blackpool airport when airline was being filmed and used to run home from school andgo and see if there was any flying to be seen.
I don,t recall much as i was only 13 at the time but i remember watching it on tv
I would dearly love a copy of the series but have drawn a blank so far.
I for one just love to see warbirds in there natural element.
I,m like a ten year old boy when i,m at legends!,
However i only go to see flying,i don,t go for danger or thrills,i was at duxford in 96 and again in 03,and i have seen first hand how awful it is when things go wrong.
it,s deeply saddening when someone loses there life doing something for entertainment.
But remember life is for living and sometimes its cruel, but overall the guys who fly these things know what there doing and more importantly why, they also know the risks, and i,ll bet if asked would,nt change a thing about there hobby!
Because like me they love these machines, may flying go on forever!
If I’m right, there’s been TWO Hurricanes flying since the 1940s, and both of those are now with the BBMF (discounting the period when LF363 was out of action….)
i stand corrected my memory must be playing tricks on me!
but the point being that just because something is rare does,nt mean it should automatically be in a museum.
and don,t forget that by flying them that often pays for the maintenance and upkeep of said aircraft.
just take a look at the shackleton at duxford!
all warbirds are pretty rare because of marks or models, and therefore going by what some say should be in a museum!
fact is i doubt very much that duxford for one would be as succesful as it is if it were,nt for the airworthy birds they have there, indeed would north weald be a building site already if it were,nt for the guys up there.
the bbmf would,nt have come into being as when they started all there birds were rare or one offs!
remember not long ago there was only one hurricane flying and its my belief that the fact that it did spurred people on to get another up,like i said it,s only my opinion but if they can fly then fly em!
this country is full off peeps trying to keep everybody and everything safe!
personally i,d rather take my own risks and live a little before they put us all in museums for posterity!!!!
it seems to me! and i,m as guilty as anyone,is that legends is spoiling us to the point where we have to look for faults!
not so long ago i could only dream of seeing so many warbirds together in one place and even better getting to see them flying in groups and tailchases etc!!
i feel privaliged to be able to go and see this show every year and never be dissapointed!
so for all my negative thoughts on things trivial .
I apologise!!
thanx tfc and iwm!
i have been to legends for the last eleven years, and have stood all over the place to watch the show,i don,t have a problem with people pitching up there chairs etc.after all they paid to be there the same as everyone else.
However i do draw the line at tents and canopies as they can restrict peoples viewing and the odd camera man!!!! who pitches up at 13.30 with his tripod and telescopic drain pipe and stands right in front of everybody on the tank bank.
That said i moved outta david baileys way and still got a great view of another superb show.
especially of the seafire as it took off for the balbo!!!!
well done tfc for another excellent show!!!
wicked site!!!:D
i watched p-39 going through its display at dx this morning so i guess she,ll be flying!:diablo:
