Thanks TJ. However the whole reason I want to connect a newsreader to a server is because Im tired of using google groups. There is an average 6 hour refresh delay and its very difficult to find posts branching off long threads (have to read date and time of each post). Your second link only works for customers of FreeUK. Basically I just want to find a server for use with Xnews and the help file didnt suggest any. xnews.newsguy.com

That doesnt really help any, I uninstalled only clicking the button that keeps system files, and Quicktime still remained my default picuture viewer and caused trouble for other programs because it was no longer present. Quicktime even took over for Windows Media Player when I tried to install competely.

I have a question of my own Id like to throw in. Ive had problems with a virus, graphic card not recognized, the QuickTime problem and other stuff that Ive screwed that eventually caused my computer to start making a growling/humming sound as though an electric motor was running inside. When I had my computer formated, this sound contiues to happen. Im sure its not the fan but the hd. Does anyone know what kind of damage this is?

I dont know anything about the techincal reasons for your problem. But I do want to mention that Ive had alot of problems with “my pictures” because of the default picture program. For example I installed Quicktime when I was intalling programs after having my hd formated, and Quicktime became my default picture viewer. When I later tried to uninstall Quicktime, alot of troubles started. My recommendation is to install photoshop as one of the first programs you put on your computer so as to make that the permanant default.

Speaking of theme song covers, the theme too Perry Mason (assuming you get that show in India) sounds awsome done on an electric guitare.

When I say aerobatic aircraft, Im not refering to purpose built stunt aircraft like the Christian Eagle or Sukoi31, there are conventional aircraft rated for aerobatics such as the Aermacchi SF-260 as pictured below

jgs43- Your trainers have 45 to 1 glide ratios? now thats top of the line, as todays high end 15m racing gliders have 45 to 1 glide ratios. The DG-505MB which is a 45 to 1 twoseater motorglider has detachable wing tips to convert it to a trainer as most consider its regular performance to high for training. The Grob Twin Astir only has a 38 to 1 glide ratio, and in the US thats considered pretty hot for a trainer. It should be mentioned that the main trainer used for training in the US is the Schweizer 2-33 with a glide ratio of 22 to 1, and it shows no sign of going away. And the Ka-6 and Ka-13 I believe are still heavily used for training in europe. And yes clubs do vary greatly in the US, most using Schwiezer 1-26(22 to 1), 2-33 or Blanic (30 to 1) which are good for general club use. Some of the big name glider ports do have modern glass racers. And as to your comment about motorgliders not being of benefit in cross country…I dont get it. Thats exactly their advantage is that you dont have to worry about landouts which is a big hassle. Motorgliders open up alot of rugged terain which couldnt be flown over for lack of landouts.

And heres a pic of the Ximango motorglider(made in Brazil, a copy of a French design)

The rail network has played a crucial role in russian history. In the russian revolution rail workers were able to play a large role in preventing the bushovics (I think) from gaining an upper hand. In WW2 when the germans invaded, the russians loaded all the equipment of entire factorys on trains and shipped them beyond the Urals which basically saved russia in that war. I dont know how their rail or trucking system is now, but Ill bet its not that bad.

The one other snag is his powers – he is a very powerful man, more like a King than a President. He more or less rules by decree, and this will need to change. But that’s a Catch 22 – unless someone like him can take command and imprint some desire for momentum on the country, Russia will go nowhere.

In my opinion, the blackmarket is a cheap, quick version of capitalism that makes up for what isnt being done legally. Because the blackmarket is illegal, it is being run by a criminal element (mafia). I hope it doesnt take 20 or 30 years to learn how to manage capitalism. It took the US alot longer than that. The US had to go through many years of labor strife and go through a depression that was caused by totally unrestricted capitalism. Russia would do well to study american corporate law as many of the laws regulating corperations were learned by hard experience of the bad that unrestrained capitalism can do. I think theres potencial for imediate economic increase just by corporate regulation.

jgs43- Your entitled to your opinion, but Id like to make clear my disagreement with much of what youve said. The two major touring gliders sold in the US are the Diamont and the Chimango. Both these gliders have 30 to 1 glide ratios and that for fixed gear, side by side seating. I think thats rather impressive compared to many club gliders which have the same glide ratio where you sit in a deeply reclined position in a small teardrop shaped cabin.
And as to the workload for extending/starting motors in auxilery powered gliders for training, I dont think that workload exists. And I dont see how that can compare to the emence workload and dangers involved in being towed. Self launchers lower cost and increase flying time. All these “purists” who resist the idea of selflaunching are just hitting your head against the wall in my opinion.
