Ive heard the main problem with starting the engines on PT boats was the transmission system. I believe that had something to do with JFK getting rammed by a jap destroyer as his boat wasnt in gear when he saw the destroyer approaching.

This is a new age in the history of the US. The US has taken a giant step by openly going to war against a county only for being dangerous. The big question is what will be the result? Its true there are only a few countrys in the world that are beligerant, but will the US really stamp them out or will we create an age of anti US imperialism and therefore create new beligerant nations

Ok, ok… I’m warning you I am not pretty.
…Balding, going grey, a beard, and a large beergut are my best features.

At 115kgs some might even call me a little overweight…

I’ll take a photo tomorrow with some of my toys…

    BTW I don’t hate Marley… I just don’t like dogs much.

Garry-I weigh 92kg and Im only 1.72m, which is why you only see my face in my pic as I have an ample belly myself. Graying and balding? I thought you were just out of college, how old are you anyways?

Also as I mentioned there is nothing worse than not being able to complete a mission because you need to kill a tank and your LAW guy is dead. Infantry are all trained to use disposable LAWs like the AT4 or RPG-22, so there is no argument that other soldiers would not do it in real life.

These are soldier sims after all. (though they lack proper artillery).

Garry- Let me clear some stuff up for you. First you have to try Ghost Recon before you can really critisize it. Second, Ghost Recon takes an extremely hands on approach to combat. You can send your other teams to places on the map with real time waypoints, but by enlarge your fighting the entire battle yourself, which is why for the most part the enemy are stationed in defensive positions as there wouldnt be much of a game if the 100 or so average number of enemy per level all came running from all parts of the combat area to fight your total if six members in one big shootout. Ghost Recon does have anti tank rockets, but eliminating the switching of weapons is more realistic as in real combat where a soldier really isnt going to run back 2 or 3 miles to pick up a RPG off his dead comrad. Ive already admited that OpFP is more a dynamic type of combat and in that sense more realistic. But Ghost Recon simulates a more guerilla type of combat where your on your own, stealthily taking out enemy. For realistic shooting and AI tactics of the enemy, you cant match Ghost Recon. After youve completed at least one level of Island Thunder, then tell me what you think off its realism.

If there should be any military action taken, it should be against N Korea. However I believe N Korea could be approached with some kind of ecomomic cooperation package that would detain its building of WMD capability. The point is, the fact we want war with Iraq and not N Korea shows the US is not fighting this for all the many reasons folks have enumerated on this thread sofar, but for selfish and even cowardly reasons.

Iraq is not the only country trying to build WMD. Iran has been recently trying in earnest to join the nuclear club which means sooner or later the US will have to invade them too. The US will have to get around to invading Libya also which means the US will control all the large oil producing nations of the mideast except for Saudi Arabia. Never mind that the citizens of N Korea are dying due to an oppressive government and that theyre building WMD and the missles to fire them, they dont have oil, so its not worth the trouble.
