RE: Brian Jones was better than Clapton – discuss, argue, agree

I wonder if you guys are familiar with Walter Trout. Ive heard hes getting some recognition over there in the UK. He was truely the best guitarist Ive ever heard. I used to see him play every week in this rowdy beer bar in Huntington Beach every weekend back in 86. Theres no words to discribe his playing. I wish to god I would have bootlegged one of his nights, I could make a mint off of it. I havent heard him lately, he still plays around southern cal.

RE: What music craze did you follow as a youngster ?

I was litteraly the only kid in my school not caught up in the Kiss craze in the mid to late 70s. I still dont get how that clown act got so big.

RE: how to make computer games

nikumba-Ive heard recently that the graphics in Quake was done with a program called maya, is this true? Also the only keyword I could think of for a google search was “computer game design” which didnt bring much up except for an interesting online mag called http://www.gamedev.net . Could you give me some keywords to enter for a search or some good links? thanx

RE: Brian Jones was better than Clapton – discuss, argue, agree

Thats a difficult call, its very difficult to gauge the talent of people like clapton or jones if you werent part of the generation that first heard them. Im 37 which means I was only 5 years old in 1970. So Im sure that the guitare styles of clapton/jones were pioneering and ground breaking for their time, but the clapton style has become such a ingrained style for guitarists today that he actually sounds simple and uninspired to todays ears.

dcfly-To be honest the latin music scene has been a bit slow lately, so Ive been listening to alot of my old favorites by la ley, los juanes, jarabe de palo and a few others.

RE: And the worst songs this year?

ketchup song a novelty song? Maybe if you dont speak spanish its a novelty (I do speak spanish), I think there sort of a latin bananarama without the dependence on sythisizers.

But as for the worst, that has to be avril livign, she sings like an 8 year old, and her songs sound like there written by an 8 year old.

    RE: College Qualifications , Degrees………

Check out a thread a while back called “what do you work as”. It amazing, noone here works in the aerospace/aviation industry, noone flys for the military, civil or sport aviation (except for wysiwyg). What we all need to do is go to our local AFBs and ask pilots and technitions to visit this site to offer hands on info, instead of the oddball fluff thats been cloging the AFM forum as of late.
BTW-Ive never been to uni, and have no professional experience in aviation.
