I may be able to get my hands on a couple for you.
I don’t care what it states, I help box it up it is a Sea Fury QEC from the bearers forward !
A Sea Fury QEC with the number 18 under the nose cowl is what you are talking about, without main engine cowls !
Yes Vintage V12s would of done a Centaurus, but the boys at Weald and a couple of guys in Darwin are pretty handy !
Sea Fury gill door actuator ?
Did anybody who attended see the Demon ? I cannot remember seeing her going through the hangers just an engine less Hind.
We can all hope time will tell
The gauge in question
I will post a photo as soon as I can of the fuel gauge required.
Hi Bruce, yes Sea Fury as you say rare as hell (hens teeth) found gauges either side 6A/2001 & 6A/2003 good point about the internals will investigate that one.
Thank you
Dave
TF now on the back of a truck waiting for the A505 to be closed for its journey back into the airfield
The biggest problem for Centaurus will come when Jeff Rushen retires
Jeff or “young” Ray cannot retire too much going on for that talk !
If only Paul Morgan was still with us
If the man was still around problem would of been solved no question long ago !
Yes Mike I did not include them due to the point you made, Tempest 2 flying in the UK skies with a Centaurus will be most welcome keep up the good work Weald
Currently I believe there are 2 workshops overhauling Centaurus engines, a “small team” in Darwin NT plus the guys at Weald both doing excellent work.
Mike J is spot on serviceable sleeves remain the main problem so the Centaurus engine is becoming a rare breed in the skies !
