Thanks for the advice, Dean, I’m practising that now and I’m beginning to get a feel for the interaction between power, attitude and trim. I’d have to agree with Damien, though, that the trim control itself is infuriatingly sensitive or insensitive depending on circumstance. I’m guessing a tactile knob is what’s needed to ‘feel’ the trim. Maybe I should get a yoke with a dedicated knob.
For now, I’m actually finding it quicker to temporarily engage auto-pilot to set the trim, then disengage!
